There’s already a lot of Florida people calling for Napier’s head.

What makes you so sure that this will be how it is? The 1 season and 4 games he's coached at the collegiate level, with his son at QB?
I said Deion type recruiter that time.
And he's coached two "full" seasons. FCS played in the spring of 2021, along with the fall of 2021 as well.
But I digress. The trend with coaching hires is about to shift I think, and you'll end up seeing more Shane Beamer types get hired to HC jobs instead of G5 coaches going forward.

quote:Over the course of this thread, people have expressed their opinions. I may have pushed the line on civility towards those opinions, but I do agree with your post. We have to get someone who can recruit. Harsin can't/won't. That is clear. The issue I have with Sanders is, he has absolutely nothing to go on, that tells me that he is a good coach. The argument back at me, seems to be that he will hire good football coaches, and just "manage" them. That sounds like wishful thinking, at best. Are the best coaches going to line up to work for someone that has been coaching less than 2 seasons, or are they going to take jobs with more established coaches at the same level of football? Do you see I recently fired HC coming to work for Sanders over someone like Saban, Kirby, or Kelly? Yeah, he's got a few decent coaches to buy in, where he is now, but why is that? Probably due to the same pitch he's giving the HS kids. Let's build up the HBCU. Money and upward mobility are the two most important things to hiring an assistant at this level.

Assistant coaches will go where talent is. It makes them look good. Has there been a coach that looked bad at bama or uga, since Kirby got it rolling? If a coach falls on hard times and looks finished he goes to bama and is looked upon as the next great thing. Why? Talent! Whoever can bring in real talent Will eventually bring in talented coaches.

Assistant coaches would love to work for a HC that allows, and trusts, them to implement THIER plan and system without the HC meddling. Look back at Gus, were coaches lining up to work for him?

I'm no Gus fan boy, but he had much better assistants than we do now, and way better than anything at Jackson State.

All but 1 of those are defensive coaches, which side of the ball does Gus control?
Cadillac's only previous experience was at IMG Academy.

Have you really looked at some of the coaches at Jackson State? I'd take their DC over ours any time, and over many we've had in the past. I'd take thier TE coach over ours, he developed Pitts at Florida.
He has a coach with over 35 years experience, many of them in the SEC. He has a DB coach who I'd take too.
Like someone told you earlier...research

Show me where I said Cadillac should be HC. I will wait.....
You really do a great job being an example of the type person George Carlin was talking about in your post earlier

You disrespect Cadillac by pointing out he coached at IMG Acacemy and started his college coaching career at A frickING SEC SCHOOL, IN 2O19. Remind me, what was "Coach Prime" doing in 2019? Hell, what SEC school tried to hire him ever?
Posted on 9/28/22 at 11:27 pm to greygoose
I question your IQ. You mentioned him (and T-Will) as a top assistant under Gus, then mentioned him in the same breath as coaches who have previously been HCs, have had long careers before Auburn and some are still coaching. I was pointing out that 1 was not like the other. I was also pointing out the irony of YOU saying he was a top hire after only coacing in HS. You really are painfully dumb.
Again, shining example of the people Carlin was talking about.
Done engaging a fricking idiot. Everyone on here sees how stupid you are

I got a weird feeling goose is gonna get a timeout soon.

Is there a way to give a timeout specific to a thread?
I see like 10 new replies and at least half of them are useless pissing matches.

They could lock this one, but you better believe the same opinions will trickle over onto another thread or two.

Deion has already proven he can get a good coaching staff relative to where he is at. His coaching staff at BFE with no drinking water is actually superb.
Are you implying Clark or Bob can actually lure the best coaches to work for them?

Sorry I engaged him again. Wasted my, and more importantly, everyone else's time

He has some coaches over there we could use at Auburn.
Could you imagine spending $40+ million to fore Gus, Harsin, and both staffs out just to replace them with Bill Clark and his UAB staff?
