It is all semantics. Both sides if pressed would probably claim no formal offer has been made. I’m actuality, we all know that initial terms have been submitted by both sides and negotiations are underway.

I think that is why OM submitted Lane an offer, because we already have. Assuming all of these reports are legit there’s no doubt in my mind that we have the better offer. It will all come down to if Lane wants to stay in Oxford or not, which my gut is telling me he might. I think he’s maturing as a Hc and doesn’t want to be seen as the guy who bounces around every few years - and he does have a good gig (relative) at OM. I also think if he does take the Auburn job he will stay here for the long haul - Alabama and NFL be damned.

Again, if all of these reports are legit to begin with.

OM wants it known by everyone they did everything they could to keep him if he does end up leaving. I'm not buying Dabo or the Cincy coach. I think Freeze is option 2. We have never hired a coordinator as the permanent HC, can't imagine that starting with this hire

Based on Kiffins comments I think he has realized that the program there has peaked to about where Freeze had it. That is as high as they can get. With NIL meaning more and more every portal period that passes they are gonna get hammered by the likes of us, Bama, UGA, LSU and ATM.
