As a fan, I like Deion. But people have to realize the possible fallout of hiring a celebrity/tv personality/legendary football player if things don’t work out. He could absolutely vocally destroy us forever if things go south…. which they typically do here at Auburn.

Safety net? Y'all need to wrap your head around the fact that our current coach, was the best we could get at the time. THEN....our BOD decided to do a VERY public investigation, based on internet rumors involving a potential sex scandal.

If Harsin was the best we could get then, how is our outlook now?

If we get Freeze, Petrino, or even Muschamp, consider ourselves lucky. The alternative is, another no name crap-shoot like Harsin. At least with those 3, we get experience coupled with ties and relationships to other quality coaches, instead of that fricking circus side show we have now.

Well said. Nobody wants to claim he can do well so some SOL team will use their last pocket change at the slot machine, pull the lever, and hit the lottery.

I appreciate that angle being offered here. I’ll chew on that for a bit.

Just you, when I've got you by your pistol-grip ears. You never listen though. Apparently, the epiglottis restricts hearing when pressure is applied.

Went 8-5 against mediocre competition?

Look at Hugh once he couldn't buy recruits at Ole Miss and what happened to them.

The game has passed him by.

I think Deoin plus a solid staff, his personality, and immediate recruiting results is the closest thing we can realistically get that wouldn't further divide the fanbase

So Sanders is now Grandma's last pull on the nickel machine, for the progressive, million dollar jackpot.

As a gambler myself, let me let you in on how this works out.........You have a better chance at being hit by lightening, 27 times, in one of your little piggy toes.

I ask only because I missed it, who do you want to see hired that could actually happen?

Just for shits and giggles, who do you think is coming to work for "Prime Time"? Maybe he'll steal O'Brien away from Saban. Muschamp for a 3rd stint at DC? Hell, maybe he can get 3-4 top recruiters away from some big schools, with big budgets, and established coaches.

shite, let's dream big!

Deion would be smart enough to know failure isn't an option for him here, I trust he would make good hires...then let them coach. He'd act like the CEO, as the HC should. He'd also fill the staff with guys that played in the NFL, that is important to kids these days

frick. That. He asked me who Deion would hire, I ask who that douche would hire. I'm sure his Conference USA championship rings would be really impressive to recruits too. frick NFL (and MLB) experience and Super Bowl rings

According to him Deion not putting people in the league would be a huge negative recruiting tactic. Nevermind the fact he hasn’t started yet.

He acts like TJ “Finely” is free to act like a bum since he was only a three star because nobody ever expects anything from them, but when it comes to Deion putting unrated players in the league he just doesn’t know how to send them to the NFL

Realistically, we are down to these options:

1. a rehab coach
2. a relatively unknown coordinator
3. a coach from a non-P5 school

Like it or not, we are screwed. Screwed so bad, we have a bunch of people who disregarding all semblance of logic and reason, and advocating for a guy who has less than, TWO frickING YEARS of coaching experience at the collegiate level! All because he landed a 165lb DB, and dances with Saban and a duck on tv commercials for an insurance company.

Let that sink in.
