What 3 games do you think takes us from Average to a Good football team this season?

For me it’s Oklahoma, UK, aTm

Some could swap UK with the Zou and I would certainly take wins over both.

Oklahoma is probably a hair more talented then us a team. We have the more experienced QB and maybe the more experienced roster. And they will be making their first road trip in the conference a week follow hosting UTk and Huepel. Should be a good mix emotions for the Sooner. I’m not sure if a loss or win against UTk helps or hurts just have to watch it play out.

UK is slightly less talented than us but not as much as we would like for it to be. We travel to Lexington which has always been a weird place for us to play in because it’s so rare. You know that UK is going to be defensively sound. They will get their assignments right and not miss a lot of tackles. Vandagriff is probably the wildcard and we really have no idea how that will turn out. He could be a star he could be a bust. We shall see.

Texas A&M feels almost like a must win. Their roster is still loaded with very talented players but have lost some huge pieces from last season. Elko I think will be a great coach for them for about 10 years but just like us with Freeze you have to give him time to implement his culture. That takes about 3 recruiting cycles. Anyway we could have some major momentum at this point in the season if the ball bounces our way and we stay injury free. That’s a lot of ifs. Obviously I’m going to be a little homerish here and say we should beat them in year one with us being at home the temps will be cool and the crowd crazy.

I am in agreement with regards to A&M. I think the chance of winning that game are pretty good. I think UK is a toss up. I would give us a better chance if it was a home game. Oklahoma is talented. Auburn has a decent chance to win but there is very little margin for error there.

I could see swapping UK with the Zou.

And I think we have a real shot on the road there if we are playing well. They lost their running back (the sec leading rusher last season). I think a couple OL and not sure but I think their DE that produced pressure consistently but he may be back. Their roster isn’t one that I really keep up with.

What gives me pause is Burden dude is a stud and if they scheme him up on someone they want he could go for 2 TDs himself

I love the posibarner and would take it right now for sure.

A lot of that depends on how the 26 seniors take this team as their own and handle lazy and loaf days like seniors should. Plus we have some very inexperienced players as some key positions such as WR and DB
