It was actually a few years back. I was in a couple of leagues and it really took up too much time. I also found myself irrationally angry when some completely irrelevant west coast team would miss a field goal at 1 AM causing me to lose.
After I won both, I quit and I've enjoyed football much better. Same reasoning keeps me from gambling.
