Haven't watched much of the baseball team but I heard that and was kinda surprised.

Yes. He's been dominant most of the year sans his last few starts but every mock draft currently has him going #1

You really missed out not watching this dude pitch this year

How often is their a consensus #1 pick that's a pitcher? How much do they typically make? Who's got the first pick?

Very often. Millions. Detroit Tigers. Mize will probably make around eight million dollars with his first contract.

ETA very few colleges have the pitching depth UF has. Whoever we play, provided we can win this one, will be scraping the bottom of their barrel.
