I am not for firing coaches and Im not advocating anyone losing their job right now but that talent excuse is just a cop out brother.

I would totally understand the low talent talk if we were screwing the pooch against more talented programs. But we have had waaaaay more talent than any team on the other side of the ball this year. And its not even close. Hell, we probably have more talent on the bench than two of the teams we played put together.

Coaches are just not utilizing the talent they have.

I'll probably get downvoted for not being as sadistic as the rest of you, lol, but I ended up going to see Jim Jefferies, Mark Normand, and Dan Soder at the Fox Theater instead. I figured there was no upside to staying home and hand-wringing over New Mexico, win or lose, so I decided to enjoy myself instead. Coming out of the venue afterward, I checked what the score was at the time, and it reinforced my belief that I made the right decision ??

This is where I’m at with Auburn Football. It’s a sad reality but it’s neccessary.

That’s just not true. All the talent we have is freshman. The rest of the team is extremely average talent wise.

So less talent than Alabama AM, Cal and New Mexico?

I have gotten a good nights sleep. I can now look at things rationally and level headed..........our D SUX.

There are just so many blown assignments. Guys taking bad angles. Missed tackles.

We finally see improvement in one faze of the game. Special teams and D just go off the rails. WTF?

I dunno if this was posted, but NM was forced to divert to mobile international airport, and South Alabama provided buses and some food before they met with their original charter in Atmore

I feel like with the rain defense needed a bit more preparation, they looked to timid to cut hard and were not running downhill, more upright, they were just getting beat in every facet except some runs against them. Also we needed to hope our OL starters get back to healthy, we can't goal line stand for nothing on offense with the setup we had last night

Well we destroyed a&m so that’s a stupid comment.

We are probably very similarly talented as Cal, probably slightly more we just had a shite qb that game. and slightly more talented than New Mexico. The results show that.

You guys act like we didn’t have Harsin for 3 years. And before that, malzahn hadn’t recruited well in a long time. So when Hugh gets here, it’s basically all Harsin players who basically all suck (save for a few). Most of those guys are playing now. Hugh has decided to build through high school, which obviously takes several years to build a complete roster. Sure, he could have gone mad after the transfer portal getting temporary fixes, but I think focusing on high school, albeit hurts the first couple years, is the right way to go.

To be clear, if it was an SEC matchup or sexy OOC game, I would've stayed home and watched. But New Mexico? I repeat, there was no upside. If we win, big whoop, and if we lose, I'm insufferable around my family all night. I said I expected to be downvoted, but judging by the mood of the game thread I browsed through, the joke's not on me for going, especially since these things called DVRs exist, should I have decided to watch afterward...

LOL. Not even close to being true. We are waaaay more talented than Cal. Even with all the new guys and departures

2019 - Malzahn brought in the 11th ranked class. Cal was 42nd

2020 - Malzahn brought in the 7th ranked class. Cal was 39th

2021 - Hars brought in the 19th ranked class. Cal was 29th

2022 - Hars brought in 21st ranked class. Cal was 59th

2023 - Hugh brought in the 18th ranked class. Cal was 79th

Cals best class wasnt even close to the worst class Hars brought in. Mustless Gus's last two classes which averaged top 10. This argument is just silly. We are waaaay more talented. Way more. And you dont want to me post the New Mexico classes

And none of that is taking into consideration the transfer portal which we have brought in tons more talent.

We are not using the talent we have. Plain and simple. We have not competed with a team yet that is even close to us on paper. Just on the field which means they are not being coached correctly.

Cal brought in 5, 4 star recruits in 3 years total. LOL.

there are as many players on our 2 deep from Gustav’s last class than from either of Harsin’s
