Going into the season, I felt Auburn needed to go 9-4 in non-conference play to be on track to make the NCAA Tournament without having to sweat it out on Selection Sunday.

A win tomorrow night against NC State would very likely solidify that.

The committee will not penalize us for losing games against likely future 1 or 2 seeds, Michigan, Purdue, Arizona, or Houston. A win over one of those is icing on the cake.

If Auburn can just handle business against NC State and avoid getting upset by UT Chattanooga and Queens, we’re guaranteed a 9-4 OOC record or better. That would probably put our magic number in SEC play at 8 or 9 wins to lock up a bid.

Bottom line- tomorrow night is a must win.

I agree. Road wins in the SEC are always at a premium and trying to get one against Purdue and or Arizona is a tough ask- not impossible but tough.

SP presser:

Filip is good to go for tomorrow night, practiced yesterday.

A couple of guys were out of practice yesterday sick. Didn't seemed worried they would be out for the game though.

Will not repeat what KO said during halftime of StJ game. Won't ever say what is said in locker room, that's for the team. But he said what needed to be said and team took to it.

On Murphy, "it'd be great if he could stay out of foul trouble". He's too valuable to not be in the game.

NC St is top 10 in offensive efficiency. 52% fg as a team. Shooting 42% from 3 (7th in the country). 4 of their 5 starters are shooting over 50% from 3 and the 5th guy is 40%.
