Because the moment something remotely bad happens, Gus pushes the “slow the frick down and substitute like crazy while calling super predictable plays” panic button. I don’t think he’s trusted a QB enough to not do this since Nick Marshall.

When I watch his Baylor footage, he's either releasing the ball almost immediately (whether it's a short, medium, or long route), or he'll tuck it and run. TBH, with our overly long-developing pass routes, I'm not sure many QBs could sit in the pocket that long & that often, even with solid protection, not against big boy defenses anyway...
