Sorry, been a little busy. I’m glad Broome was able to play! As you can see, again, he’s what makes this team elite. We still have a lot issues to iron out. Fouling too much, allowed Purdue to shoot lights out in the second half, got really lazy and careless the last five minutes of the game. Offense was stagnant at times throughout. Rebounding needs to shore up. But again, Broome played and we win big again. Beat Monmouth and not have any injuries in that game and just take care of business to get ready for a gauntlet in the SEC.

It appears UK is unable to lock down Thornton like we did a week ago. Ohio State is smacking them.

Games like this one compared to a week ago show just how important a guy like Denver Jones is for us even when he isn’t scoring. Thornton couldn’t find any daylight at all against us because of Denver. He’s running wild against UK and they have no answer.

Broome is great for sure but the surrounding cast without Broome would be a top 16 team.
Look at the improvement just on defense from Miles Kelly. Dude has been playing insane and can’t really shoot right now.
Dylan looks as composed with the ball in his hands as he has ever been. Hell he’s a great passer now. Not Broome level elite but very good.
Denver is on fire now shooting
CBM is an all sec type player. Chaney can get his. The role players are insane in hustle and effort. They wouldn’t go away if Broome wasn’t in the game.
Just wait til Miles wrist gets healthy and Jakhi gets more comfortable. Dude was all effort today. Didn’t take a bad shot. Wasn’t looking to get his just letting the game come to him.

I think our other players are good. Not arguing with that. I actually think CBM is a fringe All-American. However, Broome makes this team from a top 20 team to the best team in the country. We do have a lot of issues that we need to shore up in order to reach our potential. I see how special this team can be, but can’t become complacent and continue to have the same issue on the little things that can get you beat. It’s good that we have 9 days off before our next game to get some rest and guys get better from injuries.

We foul too much and sometimes when we're up big we become a little too 1 on 1 offensively but i wouldn't say we have a lot of things to clean up. We need to keep improving like every other team but we just mauled a top 15 team and didn't play great.

That wasn’t just the walkons though. We were not cohesive in the second half and allowed them to shoot much better in the second half. Again, things to clean up. The potential of this team is winning it all, but have to start working on the little things that can hinder you from reaching that potential. For us, it’s defensive rebounding, 3 point defense, fouls and stagnant offense for stretches in the game.

I agree with this sentiment and I understand that we just beat a ranked team. It might not sound like it on a message board but I’m actually really excited about what this team can do.

I am usually a glass half empty guy when it comes to my sports teams and always point out the bad things but this guy is taking it to a whole new level.

Yeah, we cruised to a 30+ point lead and this guy is sweating our 3rd stringers let them hit a couple of late 3s. Give me a break.
Oh, and the team we beat by like 40 last week just beat Kentucky by 20.

We were up 34 with 6 minutes left and pulled Broome off the court. At that point, the defensive effort dropped and they were able to get wide open looks from 3 but it was garbage time with the bottom of the bench getting most of the minutes from the 4 minute mark. Just stop with the "we let them shoot lights out" in the 2nd half. They had 39 points with 6 minutes left. We let them have shots in garbage time long after the outcome had been decided. It was a hell of a performance to dominate a team that took out bama and will be in the race to win the Big 10.

It's a good teaching moment. You have to close out games even up 30 so he's not entirely wrong. Still it's hard not to be happy with the way we played and have been playing.
