11th in the conference.

So they would beat Auburn, Vandy and A&M?

I think they could beat Mizzou and probably beat Ole Miss, MSU, Arkansas, UK and USC.

I’d put them at behind Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, and Florida(at home).

Alpine? Help me rate Utah higher than 11th in SEC.

Just ignore the 6th grader. He thinks a last second loss to UF (at the 2 yard line for the win) somehow "proves it on the field".

Utah would consistently finish middle of the pack in the SEC. That's all I've ever argued. I even posted the # of OL/DL Utah has in the NFL compared to the SEC, and they are upper middle, behind UA, UGA, LSU, etc.. Utah has good lineman, but as you get further away from the football we struggle with speed and depth. Whittingham is perfect for Utah because we're physical. Utah runs the ball, uses our TE's heavily and are less dependent on our wideouts. Our DL can usually get pressure with 4, so that helps a largely pedestrian secondary. Scalley also has some exotic pressure packages he mixes in as well. Utah would win 7-8 per year with an SEC schedule, with an outlier to the upside (9-10) and to the downside (6) every now and again. Kind of like UK under Stoops or USC now under Beamer.

Yeah winning and losing is generally proven on the field. Regardless of last second or middle of the second quarter. I'm not shitting on Utah. It's just what it is. The PAC champion has for years lost consistently to middling to lower level SEC opponents. Auburn v Oregon. Auburn v Washington. Florida v Utah. Auburn and Florida were middling to bottom half of the conference in each of those seasons. Those teams Oregon Washington and Utah all went on to win the PAC championship.

So like I said congrats on being best of the worst conference.

And as a reference. Florida ran for 7.3 years per carry and rushed for 283 yards against Utah. Florida lost to fricking Vandy. Enough said. Utah would rarely be bowl eligible in most seasons in the SEC.

I'm happy for you Alpine but I can stick to 6th graders if you'll stop talking about Utah even being remotely competitive with any SEC team.

Who gives me shite? People disagree. Good I love it.

So you think Utah would have finished higher then 10th in the conference. If so you don't understand football.

So you think because they lost to Florida on the first game of the year, that proves it? You dont football bro

Right now, Utah is a pretty good football team. They are better than over half the SEC teams on a Neutral field

Vandy
Auburn
TAM
MSU
Missouri
Arkansas
Florida
Kentucky
And probably Ole Miss and South Carolina

Id Put UGA, Bama, Vols and Maybe LSU over them

Thats it

I don't care what you think really. I watch football. The size, speed, talent difference is very different. And yes I think Utah would be about 11th in the conference and if they played on either side of the SEC they would finish most years 2-6 and not make a bowl most years.

Look at Utah's schedule. Point me to game they won that was against anyone decent. USC? lol. Look at their overrated asses as well. Haven't played a team with a pulse. There's a reason why a team that is what 8-10 in the SEC beat Utah. There is a reason why Oregon got destroyed by UGA. There is a reason why multiple PAC champions have lost to below average SEC teams. This isn't a one off. It's just a different breed of football in the SEC.

Like I said I'm not being an arse. Congrats to Utah but to come and think Utah would even be competitive year in and year out in the SEC or even with the Mississippi schools is dumb.

There has been 1 PAC team make the playoffs. In the first year of the playoff system. Oregon and they lost to Ohio State 42-20.

Coach you are trying to sell the Pac 12 being garbage which I will agree with you on . You are preaching to the choir

But that Utah team is way better than you are giving them credit for. Just using the fact that they lost to UF on the first game of the year in Florida is a stretch.

They would be way better than 11th and I think you are just holding your SEC pearls a little too tightly. That's a pretty good football team right now. I remember when they were doubted before for being soft and not able to play against a mighty SEC program. And I know its a different team but I dont think you are giving them the justice they deserve right now

Of course they would. What has happened for great improvement from Utah and Florida getting worse? Major injuries?

They fricking played on the field. They lost.

Penn State will absolutely destroy Utah. And watch Tulane beat USCw.

Go look at the PAC schedules. Any team that played a team with a pulse lost. Sure they beat up on each other a little bit.

And I have said all year this is a down year for the SEC a very down year for the SEC and one of our teams that barely got to .500 and lost to fricking Vandy beat the PAC-12 champion. It's all about a talent difference.

New coach, new offense, new defense, Florida players amped up with hope. All that stuff is not a factor now.

And I crushed you on that argument about Auburn and lineman. Even our shitty OL play and recruiting had more player play and drafted in the NFL over the past decade and it wasn't even close.

Anyway I'm done with this stupid argument. Enjoy the win.

I guess using your logic, Appalachian State should have been in the SEC Championship because they beat TAM who blew LSU off the field. Or was that just luck?

I will agree to disagree with you on this one.

So it was hype? No Florida just has more talent. I seriously don't think you guys would know the difference in South Dakota State and Alabama if you took the jersey's off of them.

I would put App State above Utah in the SEC if I were rating this year and/or going forward.
