Prattville beat the piss out of Wetumpka, was 41-13 when I left at 11pm.

Wetumpka's stadium announcer was just awful. Couldn't figure out what was going on on the field. They did have the ref mic's up which was nice.

Prattville got no push on the OL against a much smaller front 7. Pretty disappointing. Defense is nasty though. Cam Shanks ought to get some P5 looks.

Impressed with Cade Ott. Looks like he may have taken that next step. Had a couple of questionable throws but his arm looked live and his decision-making was good.

Doesn't lack weapons either. Line looked great. Aside from the one drop on the first drive McCants looked electric and he and Omari are going to be a holy terror for defensive backfields this year. Hammonds looked great running the ball too.

Should be a good year provided we stay healthy. Last year was just one of those lost due to injury.

Cordova upset Dora 20-13 In a classic case where the better team made a bunch of mistakes they couldn't overcome.

Also it had one of the weirdest plays I've ever seen. Cordova was attempting the opening kickoff of the second half. I think they was trying an onside kick like Auburn did in the 2009 iron bowl, but the kicker missed the ball and kicked it like an inch. I don't know the rules but they gave the ball to Dora . Lmao

Damn, you actually stayed? I left during the delay and went to Mexican.

Getting in was a clusterfrick. They wouldn’t take cash and instead you had to log onto a wed site to buy tickets. If you have Verizon it’s already hard enough to find service in certain parts of Wetumpka and by the new stadium is one of those areas, plus all the people already pulling signal off the towers.

They also had security making it next to impossible to leave one side of the field and go to the other. Prattville’s side was packed so we attempted to go to Wetumpka’s side and the police were giving us a “hard” time.

ETA: You’re from Wetumpka?

ETA2: Tallassee vs Wetumpka should be interesting next week. Jalyn Daniels is apparently on Auburn’s radar.

I don't know if the rule has changed but I was a kicker in high school. If it doesn't travel 10 yards but remains in the field of play it's a live ball the kicking team can't field but the receiving team can as normal. If the kicking team touches it then the receiving team can either ask for a re-kick or take the ball at the spot of the infraction.

Refs would probably use their discretion and award at the spot if it's a complete mess though.

The kicker immediately picked it up. Like I said the ball went an inch but they awarded Dora the ball

Yeah this then: "If the kicking team touches it then the receiving team can either ask for a re-kick or take the ball at the spot of the infraction."

Omari just caught a 41 yard bomb for a TD. Opening drive he had 2 catches for 56 yards.

Kelly ended up with like 8 for 150 and 2 TDs. Had another TD wiped off the board on one of those sweep passes by a holding call on the edge.

Watched Edgewood demolish Hooper tonight.

Also saw where Wetumpka narrowly beat Tallassee, I think.

Auburn - 16
Opelika - 14

A lot of mistakes and penalties by both teams. Powell had another stellar game and Stinson was all over the field for Opelika. I wonder if AU has a shot to get Stinson back?
