So you concede 2023 has a better defense than 2013?

just off the top of my head, the LT, LG, C, RG, RT, TE, RB and maybe WR.
Were they sick or did they show up? You called Thorne a "top quarterback" but he easily couldve had more sacks than Brodie today.

Sure, I never said otherwise. There is still a great chance 7 wins is the ceiling. And another chance that more injuries catches up.

Which is where 2013 shines. The 2013 defense got better as the season went along

Bumping for the Sunday morning crowd. The AUFamily thread should be required reading prior to posting this week.

Depressing. It’s going to be a long rebuild.

Not a long rebuild, just not an overnight rebuild.

Well true- long and not overnight could be similar….like could be 3 seasons; the fan base and administration have got to give the staff time if they continue to prove to be competent on the recruiting front- which they have so far. We have got to replenish players x

Give Freeze another year with the transfer portal, and we'll be a lot more competitive next year.

I think it will be like a 3 year rebuild but we will see positive flashes before then.

They gotta stay the course. Freeze needs to tune Montgomery up though. Ron Roberts hasn’t let lack of talent stop him from fielding a competent defense.
These stats are brutal.

It stinks but I think we had more in the cupboard on defense than on offense. We have a handful of older defensive backs who are good, had Asante chilling as a backup under the potatos, and hit on some of the DL transfers, and were able to flip a couple of VERY good freshmen (Faulk and Lee).

On offense the OL was probably the most decimated position group on the team. We then missed on the first 4-5 QB transfers we wanted, whiffed on the top 2 WR transfers we wanted (Keon Coleman, Ra Ra Thomas IMO) and our best QB and WR transferred out of the program.
