Needs more context, but a dumb thing to say regardless. If it isn't an every drill type of thing (which I doubt it is) I don't really care. Not really new to football, teams do stuff like that all the time. Bobby Petrino was famous for doing shite like this. There are times you want to offense to work on getting in a rhythm or whatever. If this is being done during every drill though, so dumb.

Much ado about this quote.

So if Im trying to get timing down with receivers, install plays, etc. If the defense is blitzing every play and I am checking down....it really aint much of a practice is it?

Let us get everything installed, then let Durkin put on his big boy pants, he will be handing out burn ointment to the defense.

He gave more context. He said in the scripted portion of practice when the defense knows what play is being run they didn't want them calling a defense that gave the play zero chance at working which makes sense to me.

Seems reasonable and is probably one of the things that as long as people had no idea it was ever going on, wouldn't care as everyone does it. Knowing is the problem

On the injury front, looks like only main outage is Devin Williams who tore his ACL in the spring. Cobb and Robinson are going to be limited for a bit. Cobb fractured a finger and Robinson still recovering from his toe surgery. Both should be fine for the season. Hollis Davidson sounds like the only other that will be pretty limited during camp.

Jesus Christ, they have Erick Smith listed as 6'4. No way. Cam Coleman supposed to be 6'3.

Montgomery Advisor

quote:

Coleman lined up in the X receiver position with Singleton in the slot and Perry Thompson running in the Z receiver position with the first team during the tempo period.

quote:

From left to right, the Tiger offensive linemen that ran with the first team were Xavier Chaplin, William Grier McDuffie, Connor Lew, Jeremiah Wright and Mason Murphy.

William Grier McDuffie is most likely Dillon Wade. Both wear the same number 52.

quote:

Tight ends ran a vertical fade route to the sidelines with safeties on their back hip, battling for the ball. The safeties consistently beat the tight ends. Freshman Eric Winters and sophomore Kaleb Harris did not allow a pass to be caught in the individual drill. Despite being young, the pair is expected to make some noise in the defensive back room.
