Yep. I figured it was an either/or for him or Wilson and I think Shivers pulling the trigger tells us Wilson will commit

What the Jerry Springer is going on in this thread?

We might be having a much needed and decent OL haul coming after all. Man if we can get that position fortified a lot better and start shoring up he incoming DL class this year I could start getting excited.

Things are looking up. Harsin recruits like Tubs. He - and staff - evaluates and projects potential. Whether people like it or not we're not consistently getting the recruits that UA and UGA are getting. AU's model over time has always been projecting and evaluating potential. There's too much money and other shenanigans involved for us to get those recruits. The last time AU tried that model was with Chiz and we had Trooper Taylor on staff. It was an insane asylum. Embarrassing for the school and community.

I talk about Utah the university too much because I live here, attended and graduated from Utah, and they have an even more aggressive model on evaluation with football. Half of our team is Pacific Islandars and no one knows who they are. They're all two stars. Utah's highest recruiting class was 35th I think and yet we're successful at Auburn's level in football under Whit. This is a university we're talking about, not an NFL farm team. I'll ask you this question; if the rules changed overnight and universities could no longer change acceptance criteria for athletes and normal students, would you change your fanhood? It wouldn't change mine. That means you're watching Powell playing CB with a 5.0 fourty.

That would be an awesome year for the offensive line Jonesy.
Question, what are the chances with CJ Chester?

I think Auburn needs to catch up on Chester. Falling behind there, IMO

I didn’t mean to, I promise.

I didn’t mean to, I promise.
But hear me out. Would you care, or would it change your passion for Auburn if all of college football just simply had the same admission standards for everyone?

I’ve been an Auburn and Denver Broncos fan for over 25 years. Nothing is changing that. I’ve experienced the mountain tops as a fan, and also the valleys as a fan.
I would stop watching sports altogether before I changed my teams.

The genii is out of that particular bottle. I think the sport will basically end before they would ever consider such a 'radical' move.

quote:I don't say this to be a braggart, but my Father made more money than Pat Dye in his best year. That was $200k. And that seems like reality. What we have is an absurd system that can't be sustained. $10 million for football coaches that can't balance a checkbook.
I wished that had happened in the 1980s.

(edit) If I can figure out a way to short all this stuff, and invest against it. I will.

Don’t want to be “negative” but did we bring in anyone for the ‘23 class?
Posted on 7/31/22 at 4:52 pm to CorchJay
Probably JC Hart and the EDGE from Louisiana.
Posted on 7/31/22 at 4:56 pm to CorchJay
Yeah that guy. I like him a lot more at EDGE than Denaud. I’m happy with the 24 commits but it only matters if Harsin produces in the field and has more success recruiting.
