On3’s Joe Tipton broke the news that Julian Phillips would be announcing his college decision on May 12th. Auburn, Florida State, South Carolina, Southern Cal, and Tennessee were the five schools on his list, joined by Overtime Elite and the G-League.
Phillips de-committed from LSU soon after the program parted ways with former head coach Will Wade. After he de-committed, Phillips had two official visits remaining; he took official visits to Southern Cal, Tennessee, and LSU in the Fall. Phillips still has one official visit to take, as he took one official visit – to Auburn – since opening up his recruitment.
While there are seven logos on the graphic, our latest intel tells us this recruitment has become a two-team race. Heading into the Auburn visit, all the smoke was around the Tigers. However, in the few days since, Tennessee has climbed back into the picture. Each staff maintains Phillips has not told them one way or the other.
