I think we’re looking at a transfer at this point.
A decent QB transfer would have to be out of their mind to come here for their final years of eligibility. What else we got

Didn’t our last qb transfer get drafted in the 4th round?

Worked out well for Stidham, Cam, and NM14. I bet Kelly Bryant regrets his Mizzou decision.

Is Jacolby a "true dual threat" like Bo Nix or a true dual threat like Nick Marshall?
True dual threat Bo Nix had -16 rushing yards against LSU.

Thanks Kaleb Kim.
Seriously, where is Jacolby on the scale of these "DT QB's"?
Stidham -> Nix -> NM

I’m not a talent evaluator. His 40 is similar to Nix, but Nix schools him in the shuttle runs. He isn’t all that electric. He also short arms the ball when throwing sometimes.
He doesn’t appear to be all that great of a pickup, but we need depth, and again, I’m no talent evaluator.

Sounds like Malik Willis 2.0. Any other QB targets?

Seems like we are focusing on Jacolby and Chayil for the class.

Unless there’s a shot at landing King, I’d rather punt on this class. Pick up Crowder in 2021 with McLaughlin and call it a day.
2020 QBs are about 95% committed at this stage. Last I looked, there’s like 4 uncommitted 2021 QBs in the top 25 of the position group

Agreed, but go after King AND other grad transfers. There are 5-7 useful ones every year now.

quote:From Texas recruiting reporters For what it’s worth his brother may be the deciding factor as to where Pouncey goes. His brother just entered the transfer portal. He was playing wide receiver for Texas. The brothers want to play football at the same school together. His brother being there is why Ethan committed to Texas in the first place.
Pouncey’s commitment was a surprise to Texas to begin with. It happened late on like a Tuesday night or something and IR came after our barrage of DB commits. I speculated that he may have been the odd man out
Not sure if the AU staff would be willing to take Jordan Pouncey as a part of the next class enrolling in January but we would probably have to to get Ethan.

The No. 1 offensive tackle in the country for the 2021 class, Tommy Brockermeyer hailing from Texas will attend the Iron Bowl.
He's the No. 3 overall recruit in the industry generated 247Sports Composite and is No. 1 in the state of Texas.
His brother, 3-star 2021 center James Brockermeyer, also will attend the game.
Both players hold Auburn offers. Looking at the picture, it’s pretty apparent the 3* is a package deal. All we gotta do now is accept the commitment from less than heralded bro and Mckensie err Tommy will walk right into our outstretched arms.
The brothers are Texas legacies. Also have another brother already playing for Texas. CB favors Texas.

Justin Rogers of TCU is transferring:
quote:
Rogers was the Frogs’ prized recruit for their 2018 recruiting class. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder was rated as the No. 52 overall recruit in the nation and No. 3 dual-threat quarterback. He was also rated as the No. 3 overall player in Louisiana. He chose TCU over offers from LSU, Arkansas, Baylor, Texas, Georgia, Missouri, Texas A&M and Tennessee among many others. When he signed with TCU, he became the highest-ranked recruit to ever sign with the Frogs during the Gary Patterson era.
