Mike Farrell talked to Webb yesterday at the Rivals 5* challenge & MF feels we still lead despite the LSU OV FWIW.

AL.com did a “meet your Auburn Tigers” feature on Jayshaun Sheffield and Jaylin Simpson. They seem like cool kids and have been friends for a long time.

Barton Simmons via 247 previewing what players can earn their 5th star at The Opening:

"Trenton Simpson, LB, Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek

Auburn commit

Current rank: 34

A recent Auburn commit, Simpson has everything on paper we love in a linebacker. He’s posted elite testing, has legit size and he’s got a background at running back which translates well. The film is there too. Currently ranked as our No. 3 outside linebacker, the right performance in Texas could start a march towards the top of his position. He has that kind of ceiling."

Keith hasn't tagged him in an article in over a year so I doubt we were.

A FSU writer Chris Nee CBed Phillip Webb to Auburn

But Niebuhr says tonight LSU is a “serious threat. Real serious.”

Hopefully the Good Lord Jesus Christ was with Nee when he put that CB in.

A USCe insider changed his Desmond Tisdol pick from Auburn to foggy this morning as well.

KN says first come, first serve between Tisdol and Steiner.

As for Steiner, KN says he measured in at 5’10.5 and in the 210-215 pound range.
Ran sub 4.5 both times as well.
Auburn loves him.

My own thoughts: he’s got great measureables to be a RB.

Tisdol is around the same size. I don’t think much separates the two there. Steiner’s athleticism is intriguing though. He’s going to be a dangerous pass rusher

Drop the QB who will never contribute or one of the thousand guards and make room for both.

Likely not a room issue for the class as a whole. We can take up to 27 in the class.

Notes from Wesley Steiner's interview at their 5* challenge event...

-Visited AU & GT 2 times the past month, LSU once
-Last Stanford visit was iin Spring
-Camped at AU, GT, & LSU
-camped for those teams because wants to play for someone who will make him better, so working with the coaches to see how they coach, & who he really works well with is important
-AU is in one of best spots for him
-Had thoughts of coming to AU (Guess this means thoughts of committing)
-Along w/ the school being great he has family near Stanford & loves the people out there
-Still hopes to commit this Summer
-Wants God to slap him in the face with the answer
-He's thinking it will happen in July or August
-Him ranking the schools: AU & Stanford go back & forth. 3. GT. 4. LSU

If we can get him here for the picnic on July 27th I hope we can seal the deal.

ETA Jonesy!

It's either/or as has been said a few times. We have 2 committed. We like Steiner & Tisdol both at ILB & not counting the Buck we only play a 2 LB scheme roughly 80% of the game. I know T-Will wants 4 but Gus & Steele may not see the need for 4 LBs not counting a Buck (Or a guy that can end up at Buck like Webb) since we only use 2 on most plays.

1 guard = 1000? That’s some funky math.
