AU’s biggest threat for 4* OLB Phillip Webb is Alabama. Williams was at his school earlier this week. Webb is #38 in the composite.

Alabama just landed a top 30 LB last week. Maybe that will help our case.

They basically have 4 LBs already committed. They have a safety listed at 6-3 238 that their guys are considering a LB.

He wants to make his decision before the season starts. He mentioned relationships as being the most important factor. He’s friends with Pappoe, he’s close with TWill, and his dad is friends with Garner.

I like our chances but you never know

No surprise with Rivers, Williams, and McCluster. Isn't there another LB that's supposed to be committing soon or am I wrong?

We’re in great shape for 4* Cameron Riley, who KN feels could commit basically anytime.

A class of Webb, Riley, Tisdol, and Groce would be pretty killer.

Bama 247’s Hank South said Groce could commit this spring. Apparently he’s put on about 30lbs this off season. Hank says Bama is coming on strong.

FWIW, Hank doesn’t seem very confident about Bama’s chances with Webb

Would be pumped to have this class. I think Tisdol ends up a 4* before it's said & done

Justin Ford is about ready to shut things down.

Ford, a 2019 junior college recruit who would be a late addition to the class, plans to announce his college choice soon. He Tweeted on wednesday he has set his commitment date for May 15. He currently is at California's Golden West College.

Auburn, which Ford visited last week for the first time, is a top contender -- maybe even the favorite. Utah is another program to watch. The Utes got an official visit in April. According to our intel, Ford cancelled a recent official visit to SMU.

quote:

Because of depth issues at cornerback, Auburn has heavily pursued Ford after offering him earlier this year. Ford signed with Kansas during the 2019 recruiting cycle, but things didn't work out and the two sides parted ways. He never enrolled there.

At Auburn, Ford got good vibes, he said last Thursday.

quote:

"The visit was great," Ford told Auburn Undercover after visiting the Tigers unofficially. "I just wrapped it up. I had a good time with my family. It was rather quick, but I feel like I got the experience I was looking for."

Ford is a North Carolina native. Proximity to home is big for Auburn. So is the fact the Tigers play in the Southeastern Conference.

Auburn offered Ford, who is 6-feet-2, 175 pounds, in April. According to Ford, his Tigers' offer came from defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and secondary coach Wesley McGriff.

quote:

What stands out with Auburn?

quote:

"The culture," Ford said. "And it's just the level of football I feel I should be playing at."

According to Ford, there is one academic hurdle remaining should he choose to attend Auburn.

"I have to take two more classes," Ford said. "That was the original holdup. I wouldn't even lie, I would probably be committed here if I didn't have to do it."

Would having to take extra courses be an issue? That's what we asked Ford last weekend.

"Possibly, but I have strong consideration for this school regardless," he said of Auburn.

I’m guessing that means he’s Utah bound.

S Rashad Torrence, Florida commit, is visiting Saturday.

KN thinks S Ladarius Tennison is trending to AU. Tennison is only 5’9 but he’s a 4* on 247 and has recent offers from A&M, Michigan, Florida, and Clemson.

Auburn offered 4* Major Burns out of Louisiana. 5* name for a safety, no doubt.

Unranked JUCO DB CB Marco Domio will take an OV to AU on June 8th. Also set an OV to Colorado on June 14th. Domio has 3 years to play 2 & would be an EE. His recruitment has taken off with recent offers from Bama, Tennessee & A&M. Wants to commit before the season

DB is down this cycle so probably why seeing a few more JUCO guys being targeted

Deshaun Watson really was a game changer in Malzahn and Dumbo's careers.

Deshaun Watson really proved to be a generational qb.
