Yeah it’s looking like exactly what we needed. Another HS OT and OG along with another JUCO OT would look good IMO

Wasn't there some talk that Steiner could maybe play S too?

Coue blurbs from John Garcia Jr that I grabbed:
quote:

Auburn has held the commitment of Montevallo (Ala.) wide receiver J.J. Evans since February and that pledge is strong, at "95 percent" according to the Top247 talent. Alabama, which has hosted him several times, as well as Tennessee are a pair keeping tabs on the big pass catcher. He is considering an official visit to one of those programs as early as next week and/or weekend.

quote:

Among the most coveted inside linebacker types in the class of 2020, Rodney Groce says his top three are Alabama, Auburn and Oklahoma. Admittedly close to picking Auburn this spring, he wants to see Norman for the first time before making a decision. That official visit is likely to be scheduled for the season and now the Pleasant Grove (Ala.) rising-senior recruit is in no rush to make a final decision

No. A 247 reader misread a post from Keith a few days ago. Keith said today Steiner is a LB target all the way for AU.

Reading tea leaves & basing from Keith's posts I'm guess Groce is not a take for AU & Bama & OU may want to see him to see if thy are ready to take him. They can use all the help on D they can get.

Something I read that was interesting regarding T-Will recruiting linebackers:
quote:

Early in the recruiting cycle, Auburn linebackers coach Travis Williams got his players together to take a look at his top recruiting targets. For Williams and his “room,” this is standard operating procedure. Preaching “family” isn’t just talk to him; he wants them involved in different aspects of the program, to feel as vested in Auburn’s success as possible.

His linebackers are told what Williams is looking for in a recruit, then he shows them some video. The players look at the skill sets and try to determine which ones could fit Auburn’s style, which ones they’d really want to play beside.

The article goes on to say that the players liked Simpson’s tape and Simpson really clicked with the current linebackers.

Weakside End Will Anderson is committing today at 2CT, likely to Bama. Would think it would push Webb further to the forefront for AU. AU did not make the final cut for Anderson.

KN’s Tank Bigsby crystal ball is a question mark.

Was considered a USCe lean.

A 2021 note. 5* S James Williams visited AU yesterday for the 2nd time this month. The other was for BCW. Here's a write up on him after BCW from Paw...

quote:

Big Cat Weekend’s focus is usually on the current class but often a few elite prospects of future classes get an invite too. James Williams absolutely fits the bill. While Miami is thought to be the early favorite this is a race that Auburn very much in early on. A strong campaign in 2019 could give the Tigers the boost they need to pull this off.

If we could just make some consistent noise throughout the season, Auburn could really turn a corner.

2021 DT Anquin Barnes from Montgomery earned an Auburn offer last weekend. At 6-4 295, KN says he looks like a college freshman. He’s hitting the camps hard this summer and his stock is rising. KN expects him to be one of the state’s top guys next cycle.
