Joe Moorhead and the Mississippi State Bulldogs are not off to a fast start like in-state rival Ole Miss, but they have positioned themselves well with numerous in-state prospects. When one commits, there could be a flurry of Mississippi athletes to join the 2019 Bulldog class. This class comes down to in-state success. It is in the top two to three for many of the top 20-25 prospects in the state. This class could really surprise some with its final ranking because the state of Mississippi is very strong this cycle.
Interested to see how Moorhead recruits in the southeast

Do not be fooled with Auburn having just two commits here in the second week of April. The Tigers are doing a lot of good things behind the scenes and they could have a huge spring and summer if things fall into place. They are really working the state of Georgia hard this cycle and it could pay off in the near future. A big month of May could be in store for Gus Malzahn.

Highest ranked commit: Moses Douglas
Top uncommitted target: Tanner Bowles
Kentucky is about to host a major recruiting weekend and if all goes according to plan, its commitment list could grow in numbers. If this article was published earlier in the month, Douglas would have been the top uncommitted target and landing the legacy recruit shows just how much potential the 2019 class has going forward. Bowles is an important target because of the number of programs already in the mix for the Kentucky native, including in-state rival Louisville. Landing his commitment would be a nice piece and continue the Wildcats' recent track record of landing quality offensive linemen.

Missouri finished with the league's No. 12 class in 2018 and it is in that same spot in the spring for the 2019 class. This class could come down to how the Tigers perform this fall. They finished the second half of the season strong in 2017, so if they can carry that into 2018, the recruiting could pick up late in the fall.
3 elite talents in MO this year but Illinois hired their high school coach & is on verge of stealing all 3 away

13. ARKANSAS

Highest-ranked commit: Beaux Limmer
Top uncommitted target: Stacy Wilkins
Arkansas is taking a bit of a slower approach to recruiting, at least in terms of taking commitments at this stage, compared with some of the other new staffs in the class. Two of the school’s three commits are from out-of-state and while the majority of the school’s top targets will come from other states, make no mistake, Wilkins is a top priority. The athletic left tackle prospect has a national list of offers and a chance to be the perfect piece in new coach Chad Morris’ class.
Morris gonna get all the 3* kids out of TX

Highest-ranked commit: Joel DeCoursey
Top uncommitted target: Woodi Washington
As usual at this time of the year, the Commodores are running behind the rest of the conference on the recruiting trail. That’s because the coaching staff puts a big priority on in-person evaluations and usually sees a major uptick in commitments over the summer. Even though Vanderbilt recruits nationally to fit its unique combination of athletics and academic requirements, Washington is a national-level recruit right in the school’s backyard and getting him in the fold would be a major win on the trail over several other SEC programs.

KN reporting that Jakai Clark has committed
Posted on 4/10/18 at 1:42 pm to TigerPaw1
OL from Georgia commits to Auburn (247)
quote:
When Auburn offered him a scholarship on Saturday, Jakai Clark was “a little bit” surprised.
But with that offer, the Tigers immediately shot to the top of his list of favorites. Three days later, the 3-star center from Grayson (Ga.) has committed to Gus Malzahn’s program.
He made the move during a return visit to Auburn with his parents.
"They just offer everything I’m looking for," Clark said. "Close to home, great football and they offer my major with a top-50 business school."
For Auburn, Clark is commitment No. 3 in the 2019 class.
He joins 4-star quarterback Bo Nix of Pinson Valley (Ala.) and 4-star receiver George Pickens of Hoover (Ala.) on the commit list. Pickens gave his pledge to the Tigers last summer; Nix made the move in January.
With Clark on board, Auburn moves from No. 38 to No. 31 in the 247Sports recruiting team rankings.
The 6-feet-2, 305-pound Clark will be a three-year starter this fall at national power Grayson; he is the No. 12 center nationally in the industry generated 247Sports Composite.
“He is the bell cow,” said Grayson college recruiting coordinator Kenyatta Watson. “I’ve coached him since he was 10. The kid is a student of the game and wants to be great. Big body, very strong and athletic. He is our best offensive lineman at Grayson."
With Clark on board, Auburn now can focus on guard and tackle. The latter is a particularly high priority in this cycle.
One of the best tackles in the class is Wanya Morris, Clark’s teammate at Grayson and one of his best friends. Clark no doubt will attempt to sway Morris to join him in Auburn.
Morris and another Grayson standout, 5-star linebacker Owen Pappoe, plan to announce their commitments the first week of May.
Morris is down to Auburn and Tennessee. Pappoe is considering Auburn, Georgia and others. Both of those players spent several days on campus at Auburn last week.
“They came out here last week and told me the coaches were talking about me a lot,” Clark said.
With offensive line being a priority in this cycle, it’s big for Auburn to finally have a lineman on the commit list for offensive line coach J.B. Grimes. Grimes, who coached at Auburn from 2013-15, rejoined the staff in January after former offensive line coach Herb Hand left for a job at Texas.
Just last month, Clark named Boston College his leader.
But once Auburn offered Saturday, things changed — and in a hurry. With the Tigers recruiting several interior linemen, Clark figured if he wanted to be in the class he better secure a spot sooner rather than later.
“(Gus Malzahn) was pretty much the one that told me I got offered,” Clark said. “He pretty much just told me that they liked my film, they want me.”
Now, he's a Tiger.
"I think it’s just the family environment,” Clark said. “I know that Auburn is a championship contender. I like that. I play at Grayson — we’re used to winning.”

BREAKING: Auburn lands offensive line commitment from Georgia powerhouse (SECCountry)
quote:
Jakai Clark’s recruitment took a 180-degree turn the last couple days.
The 3-star offensive lineman from Grayson (Ga.) High School entered Saturday with the most mutual interest with Boston College, Syracuse and Temple. Clark picked up an offer from Auburn before the Tigers’ spring game.
He committed to the Tigers on Tuesday when he returned for a mid-week visit, Clark told SEC Country.
Clark is the third commitment in Auburn’s 2019 class, joining quarterback Bo Nix and wide receiver George Pickens.
The 6-foot-2, 305-pound lineman plays center for Grayson. He ranks as the No. 12 center in the country — and the No. 1,341 overall prospect — but his stock is rising. Clark is the first center in the 2019 class that Auburn has actively pursued outside of Oxford (Ala.) center Clay Webb.
Clark plays for a high school with which the Tigers hope to become familiar.
Grayson regularly cranks out Division I talent and the Class of 2019 might be its best yet. Clark is high school teammates with 5-star linebacker Owen Pappoe and 4-star tackle Wanya Morris. Both of those prospects were on campus earlier this week. The offer and commitment from Clark isn’t a coincidence.
With Clark’s commitment, the Tigers move up five spots to No. 31 in the 247Sports composite team rankings.
Auburn needs to emphasize offensive linemen in the 2019 class. Clark is the first to jump on board. The Tigers’ biggest line needs are at tackle, but interior depth is always welcome. Clark’s commitment draws the most interest because of his friendship with Pappoe and Morris.
According to one source, this doesn’t change anything in the recruitment of Webb. Auburn knows it’ll be a battle for Webb, but the Tigers were more than eager to immediately add a center targety. The Tigers still plan to recruit Webb who remains a top target regardless of position or location.
Clark also held offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Kansas, Minnesota and West Virginia.

That's pretty high praise with Wanya on that OL as well. Let's sweep Grayson.

Yeah, its an interesting statement for sure considering that Morris is a top 40 overall player.

Clark gets mom on campus, commits to Auburn (Rivals)
quote:
The third time was the charm for Jakai Clark.
The fourth wasn't so bad either.
The 6-foot-2, 306 pound center out of Loganville (Ga.) Grayson was at Auburn the first time in 9th grade, then he was on the Plains in the fall for the Iron Bowl, and although he may remember each of those visits. He won't remember it in the same way that he will his third or fourth time he was on the Auburn campus.
He got the coveted offer on his third visit and committed just a few days later when he was there for the fourth time.
"I was told by a few people who had visited Auburn last week that they were interested in me, but the offer was still a surprise when I got it," said Clark.
"The atmosphere at Auburn is crazy and that's one thing I really look for in a school. I like playing for big crowds and that's one reason I committed to them. Another reason is because I want to play for a championship team and Auburn definitely has that.
"Also they have the major (Business Finance) I want and that made my parents happy, which is something else that's big to me.
"I had to get my mom over there, so I did and I am now committed to Auburn."
Clark was leaning towards Boston College before Saturday changed everything. He is now committed to Auburn and he is done with the recruiting process.
"With me committing today, I'm going to shut down my recruitment," said Clark. "I want to feel like I'm at home and AU has that feeling. Between the players and the coaches, everybody looks out for one another and I love that."
The 6-foot-2, 306 pound offensive lineman is a true center. He is a smart player with good balance and he understands the position. He is teammates with numerous other Auburn targets, including Owen Pappoe, Wanya Morris, Kenyon Jackson and Kenyatta Watson.
Clark is Auburn's third commitment for the 2019 class. He joins Bo Nix and George Pickens.

Thanks for all the updates.
Glad we got Clark. Makes me feel better about C going forward. Really want Keiondre Jones, Morris, and Truss (Haven't heard anything about him in a while). I doub't we get Webb, but stranger things have happened.
