I just wanna say that if we somehow land an offensive class of Bo Nix, George Pickens, one of John Emery/Noah Cain & one of Jadon Haselwood/Frank Ladson the fapping won't stop all offseason....

Really really want Emery but don't feel good about pulling him from Louisiana

LSU already has 1 in state RB committed. Emery to AU is a real possibility.

Also, LSU is hard after Noah Cain as their 2nd back, as well as Emery. So whichever one they don't land we have a good shot at as well.

Personally I want Emery

RBs should be drooling over the lack of quality depth on the roster right now. Asa Martin is probably going to start as a true freshman this year. There is a real need for true RBs and not scat backs.

i don't expect us to get both Cain & Emery but man would be nice to get one. Of all the LA kids Emery seems like the guy looking to get out. Has missed both big LSU weekends & visited elsewhere. I think of those 2 we have a better shot at Emery tho KN seems to imply AU is very much a threat for Cain

Also interested to see how this WR stuff shakes out. Seems like we are swinging for the fences right now & I guess considering who we have committed & who we signed last year we can afford to do that. Would love to steal one from UGA for once.... That includes you Own Pappoe

Not sure I agree with you. We have Whitlow, Asa Martin and Barrett. Those are three REALLY good backs.

Don't sleep on Boobie. Haven't seen him run since high school but at about 220 lbs he at least has the body to not be a scat back.

2020 AU commit talks UGA interest, visit (Rivals)
quote:

AUBURN | Andy Boykin, one of the top defensive linemen in the 2020 class, is committed to Auburn.

Still, he plans to visit other schools.

Boykin, from Troup High in Lagrange, Ga., made a recent trip to Georgia.

“I wanted to take my family there and let them explore another school and see how they felt about it,” Boykin said. “It was a good visit. My family felt good about it.”

The visit didn’t change his feelings about Auburn.

“Things are still the same,” Boykin said. “My family and me are still 100 percent Auburn. I always loved Georgia, but Auburn makes me want to stay here. Auburn has such a good fan base.”

Boykin will visit Georgia again before Signing Day 2020. He’ll also visit Auburn several more times and could make trips to Florida, Florida State and Tennessee.

One of the things Auburn has working in its favor is defensive line coach Rodney Garner. Boykin and Garner have developed a close bond, one that Boykin is looking forward to strengthening more.

“Coach Garner wants the best for me,” Boykin said. “He’s put a lot of guys in the (NFL) and I want to be one of those that he puts into the (NFL).”

SEC Spotlight: Must-have 2019 prospect for each program (Rivals)
quote:

In the SEC, some schools are off to fast starts recruiting the 2019 class, while others have yet to get the commitment ball moving. We take a look around the conference to see who is the must-have prospect for each program in this cycle.

Gonna list other teams whose target they pick is a major AU target as well

ALABAMA

5* C Clay Webb

Alabama missed out on the No. 1 prospect in its home state in 2018 when wide receiver Justyn Ross signed with Clemson, so keeping Webb is extremely important. Under Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide have won big and it has a lot to do with their dominance in the trenches. Webb is one of the top offensive linemen in the country and he has been a top target for Alabama for over a year. They will have to battle Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and some others, but Tide will go hard for the No. 1 prospect in their state.

4* OT Darius Thomas

Offensive line is a huge need in this class for Auburn, especially at offensive tackle. The Tigers were in on some big names late in the 2018 cycle, but missed on those guys making the tackle position that much more important in 2019. Kight got an offer from the Tigers last spring and he was back on the Plains in the fall. He knows he is a high priority for Auburn and his position is one of need.

LSU

5* CB Derek Stingley Jr

Many prospects today call LSU ‘DBU’ because of the amount of defensive backs the Tigers have produced in the past decade. So, with the No. 1 prospect in the Boot State being a defensive back, Stingley has to be their ‘must-have’ for this 2019 class. He is a true five-star cornerback that every school covets. LSU had him on their commitment list after his freshman year, but he re-opened his recruitment in the spring of his sophomore year. Many expect him to go back to the purple and gold when all is said and done.

OLE MISS

4* LB Nakobe Dean

The state of Mississippi is loaded in 2019, so you could name a number of prospects here, but why look any further than the No. 1 prospect in the state. Dean is fresh off a visit to Georgia, he visited Alabama recently and he is definitely looking at some schools outside his state, so this will not be easy for Ole Miss. Dean is a star on and off the field and he could go into Oxford and make an impact day one. He is feeling the love from the Rebel staff and he is a priority for them.

Auburn priority guard target Keiondre Jones makes second visit in as many weeks (SECCountry)

Auburn guard target makes second visit in as many weeks

Keiondre Jones knows Auburn well.

The 6-foot-4, 315-pound guard from Hogansville, Ga., attended at least three games in Jordan-Hare Stadium in the fall. Jones has been recruited by Tigers defensive line coach Rodney Garner, his area recruiter, for a few years now and it’s one of his strongest coach-recruit relationships. Plus, he’s been to Auburn two times in the last two weeks, which has made the Tigers a growing contender.

Jones, ranked as the seventh-best guard nationally in the 247Sports composite, said after his most recent visit that Auburn is making its move.

“Yeah, they’re trying to recruit their way to the top. They’re working their way up. That’s big-time football right here,” Jones said. “I just feel at home. It’s right down the road. It’s easy to get here. I like the coaches here. Me and Coach Garner have had a good relationship for a while. I like [offensive line] coach [J.B.] Grimes. I just have a good feeling here.”

Jones’ most recent visits have been more hands-on than previous trips.

Throughout the fall, his game day visits prevented him from having much 1-on-1 time with coaches. Auburn has picked up its communication since turning the calendar to the 2019 class. Jones said he hears from someone on the Tigers’ staff on an every-other-day basis.

His back-to-back visits to the Plains have shown him that Auburn’s interest has “picked up a little bit more,” which has been reciprocated on his end.

Jones was especially impressed when he attended the Tigers’ spring practice on Saturday.

“I had a really good time getting to see Coach Grimes coach. I hadn’t gotten to see him coach before, so that was a great learning experience for me,” Jones said. “I just have a really good vibe, better than I had before.”

Jones plans to make a college decision before his senior season. Florida, Clemson, South Carolina and Mississippi State are the other programs to watch. Someone close to the situation said Auburn is as good of a spot as possible right now, and that the Tigers are most conscious of Florida for the time being because of Jones’ close relationship with his cousin Emory Jones who signed as the Gators’ quarterback last class.

Jones will take a visit to Gainesville, Fla., likely on March 16 and 17. He plans to return for Auburn’s spring game on April 7.

Miami offensive line commit enjoys visit, plans to return

Kingsley Eguakun committed to Miami on Jan. 12 as a relative unknown prospect from Jacksonville, Fla.

At the time, the 6-3, 294-pound guard held offers from Miami, Louisville and UAB. Eguakun ranked — and still ranks — as the No. 31 guard and No. 934 overall prospect in the Class of 2019. But whenever a top program takes an early commitment from a lower-ranked recruit, it catches the attention of several other Power 5 schools who quickly evaluate — and often offer.

That’s what happened here with Eguakun.

Auburn and Tennessee have offered in the last two weeks. Texas A&M and LSU are two other programs communicating regularly with the Miami commit.

The Tigers have made a bigger move than most in the effort to change Eguakun’s mind, which won’t be an easy task. Auburn hosted Eguakun on his first trip to the Plains last weekend, and he expects to return later in the spring.

“First time here. I liked it a lot. It was a great experience, great talking with all the coaches and getting to meet everybody, great getting to go to the basketball game,” Eguakun said. “I’m very interested really. It’s a great opportunity, great school. I definitely be back during the spring. I’m coming up with my coach in the spring, and I’ll probably come up with my mom and grandma.”

Miami is creating a pipeline of sorts from Jacksonville to Coral Gables. In fact, the Hurricanes are using the phrase “Da-U-Val” as a way to play off Duval County, home to Jacksonville. Because of this, it won’t be easy for Auburn or others to flip Eguakun from Miami.

If he returns to the Plains, however, the Tigers will have a serious chance.
