LINEBACKER

Committed: 1 -- Owen Pappoe

Spots to fill: 1-2

The 411: Pappoe is a 5-star recruit and landing him May 1 was huge for the Tigers. Not only is he a really good prospect but he's also an active recruiter for the Tigers. Who will join him in the class? That's a mystery right now. Auburn likes 4-star Georgia commit Trezmen Marshall a lot and he visited twice this summer. But he hasn't been back since. Five-star linebacker Nakobe Dean of Mississippi plans to officially visit the Tigers the weekend of Nov. 17. Most of the chatter with him is about Alabama and Georgia but Auburn probably is in it more than people think. Gators commit Tyron Hopper of Georgia is someone Auburn also likes. But if there is one backer to watch, it's probably this guy: Four-star FSU commit Kalen DeLoach of Savannah (Ga.) Islands. He officially visited in September and that race has tightened we are told.

CORNERBACK

Committed: 3 -- Cam'Ron Kelly, Zion Puckett, Jaylin Simpson

Spots to fill: 0-1

The 411: Auburn wanted a big group at cornerback and it looks like that will happen. Right now, the Tigers have three 4-star recruits committed and two of them -- Kelly and Puckett -- will be early enrollees. Both Kelly and Puckett are capable of also lining up at safety or nickel/star. Three-star in-state corner Nehemiah Pritchett of Jackson High is another to watch. If Auburn pushes for a commit, it probably would get it.

SAFETY

Committed: 1 -- Jashawn Sheffield.

Spots to fill: 0-1

The 411: Technically, Sheffield is listed as an athlete. We're just projecting him at this position for now. It seems like Auburn would like to add at least another player in this part of the secondary. It could even be a nickel -- a spot Kelly, Puckett or Pritchett could even. Jammie Robinson of Georgia is a safety target of note and he could return in the fall. Right now, Georgia and South Carolina are the teams to watch. Emerging safety Jamal Hill of Georgia also might be someone to track here. Same with Kenny Logan of Florida. He likes Auburn a lot. If the Tigers pushed, watch out. Other names could emerge.

KICKER/PUNTER

Committed: 0

Spots to fill: 0

The 411: Unless something changes we don't expect Auburn to take a kicker or a punter in the class. There really isn't a huge need right now for either. Kicker Anders Carlson is a redshirt freshman. Although he has struggled some, he's still young. Also, Auburn just signed a punter in the 2018 class -- Arryn Siposs of Australia. Siposs will have two years remaining. Auburn's depth here could come in the form of walk-ons as it does at most programs.

Spencer Rattler got suspended for the rest of the season.. Not sure how that will affect Nix in the QB rankings, but def can't hurt.

RB to watch for is 3* Jamious Griffin of Rome, GA. He's been on the radar for a while but apparently is climbing AUs RB board and potentially a fallback option if we miss on Cain, Mark Antony-Richards, and Kenny Mcintosh.

Jamious is currently committed to NC State. We have not offered yet.

I like Griffin. Good fit if he we miss on top guys. I think UGA is giving him a long look too

Also will post full update later but Wolk seems to think AU might actually be the team to beat for Richards right now

Also listening to Rundown yesterday sounds like Wolk & JLee both think that things have cooled down between AU & Derick Hall. Apparently he hasn't had as strong a senior year as expected. Both think he would still be a take but AU might not be pushing as hard as they once were

Wolk says Kevin Steele is visiting FSU commit 4* LB Kalen Deloach today. He's a major flip target for AU

Amazing how a couple of losses kills all of our enthusiasm for football and recruiting.

We lost to Nick Fitzgerald and Tennessee. Those are more than your average "losses". Those are program killers.

C'mon guys I'm trying to laugh at UGA here. We can get back to melting when we lose to A&M next week...
