Nah I think I take Haselwood over RB
But I sure as heck would trade Haselwood for any 5* OL at this point

KN also doesn't seem to think it's outlandish that Nolan Smith flips to Bama or Clemson
I for one would enjoy watching some Dawg melts this NSD after last cycle

Can't wait to see Bo Nix, Haselwood and Pickens tear it up in this dynamic passing offense that Malzahn has.

Surprised it took this long for this comment

I think we could use a few more threads with hot takes on what's wrong with Malzahns offense IMHO.

Oh, definitely. I'd like to see at least one or two more that narrow the problem specifically to passing out of running formations with the first reply being about $49 million dollars. Those threads are fresh like the Krispy Kreme doughnuts when the hot sign is on.

Wolk put up an insider this morning. Here's summary. A TON of info
- Hits on many of the same points as KN on Haselwood. Says there is a bit of concern about AU not already having an OV date set with Haselwood but expects that to happen. He just speculates that shows how MIA does in fact have an ege at the moment
- FSU/LSU appear to be the teams most likely to get that 5th OV with AU & UGA expected to receive one as well
- Says that AU will have to fight to keep Pickens. BAma/FSU/UGA are the main threats. LSU is trying to make a push as well. However, Wolk reiterates his belief that in the end Pickens will sign with AU & the staff is confident as well
- Mentions two other names to watch in regards to flipping. First is one we all know of in 3* DT LeDarrius Cox. Has come to one game & will OV at some point. But interestingly he mentioned another DL to watch - 4* Curtis Fann. He's currently an FSU commit but apparently Steele & Garner have kept after him. He's apparently seriously thinking of taking an OV in DEC
- That DL news tho doesn't mean AU is worried about current commits just yet. Wooden has pretty much shut down his recruitment. Bama is coming hard after Handy & OM is hard after Gordon but as of now AU looks good at keeping both in fold
- Some interesting stuff on Derick Hall. Hints that maybe it's AU that is holding things up right now with Hall. Garner saw him in action & sounds like there is concern he's more of a developmental product at the Buck than originally thought. Wolk still thinks he's a take but thinks now AU might look hard at taking 2 Bucks this class & are being patient
- 3* DB Raydarious Jones wants to take an OV to AU. He's teammates with Nakobe Dean & visited with him last spring
- Apparently UF commit 4* LB Mohamoud Diabate has been visiting AU much more than has been reported. That's not a huge surprise considering proximity. Apparently there's debate over whether he's a Buck or a stand up LB. Buck appears to be where AU is leaning. However, Wolk thinks a flip will be tough. Says to keep an eye on OM commit Sam Williams as well at Buck
- Final thoughts are on RB use moving forward. AU has been using a 2 man approach which is why most carries have been to Boobee/Kam. He's asked around on Asa & says that ball security isn't the #1 concern instead "that
he still has a few true freshman tendencies, so-to-speak, that have delayed his path to significant early playing time". Apparently Shivers came in a more polished product than Asa & sounds like he will be the #2 man to Kam this weekend tho Asa will have a role

Same. That's why I had to jump at the chance to make my hot take be known.

Alright so some good CB news & some bad ones
Good news - Wiltfong just CB'd Putnam to AU
Bad news - Wiltfong just CB'd Haselwood to MIA
Also fun news, he just CB'd Tyrique Stevenson to MIA. He's long thought to be a major Dawg lean

As bad as I want a duo of Pickens and Haselwood, ain't gonna matter if Bo Nix doesn't have time to throw. Putnam is a must have right now. Him, Keiondre Jones and Clay Webb would all get serious looks at starting. Egokun looks pretty good too.

I'm greedy & want both
But yes right now would take quality OL over quality skill players

I am starting to feel like this is shaping up like our normal process. Mass fear we can't recruit all year. Slowly, we finish we some nice cruits, ending in a 7ish class.

Recruiting cycle seems to have been kind of slow as of late so this is all good news. I would go insane if we swiped up Haselwood from UGA. Do we have enough guys targeted rn to finish with 24 guys on signing day?

How any elite WR can watch our offense and come here is wild. I’ll take em but I don’t get it from their perspective
