No one will say it, but RBs and torn ACLs don't mix well.

What is difficult about this comment is your historical lack of humour is leading me off the trail.

So apparently Jakai Clark is gonna decommit soon. KN nor Wolk said his name specifically but KN did say that it would be a mutual parting of ways with a 3* commit ala Cordale Flott. FWIW Clark has removed all the AU things from his profile
Obviously this is a result of Clay Webb silently committing....

I smell what you are stepping in

With or without Webb, I’m fine with Clark dipping.

I would be OK with this if it weren’t for his close relationship with our star linebacker commit.

The problem is, unless we are after some players no one knows about, we are in an even bigger hole for O line recruiting. And as far as I can tell we aren't really leading for anyone major. Our hopes seem to be on flipping Wanya and making up ground on Putnam. Are we just giving up again this year and hoping to go big next year?

I suspect this will not have much of an affect on Pappoe. Otherwise staff would be fighting like hell to keep Clark

Little too early to hit the panic button. AU is battling for 5* Clay Webb, 4* Will Putnam & 3* Kamaar Bell right now. If they go 0/3 on that group with no new names emerging then maybe panic
Also, not sure how you can say AU gave up last year. They went HARD after some big fish. They just didn't hook any of em.

Not panicking just calling it how I see. it. Wayna is a long shot to flip, we are playing catch up to FSU with Putnam, and in fairness I forgot about Bell. Also I'm not giving up on Webb, but we trail for him too.
That gives us 2 O-line commits and everyone else (4 players) that we trail on. Not impossible to get those players, but very difficult and we don't seem to have many back up options.
I know we were after some good players last year, but towards the end of the year when we struck out on them I remember word going around was instead of reaching for a player we would go big on the O-line this year.

FWIW I think we end up landing Putnam. But that's just a hunch so we will see

One name to keep an eye on is JUCO 4* OT Bamidele Olaseni. He's apparently gonna OV at some point per KN. I suspect you see more names pop up on campus this season. If you remember Justin Osborne wasn't talked about much then all of a sudden he was on an OV & flipped.

Staff isn't gonna reach on kids no matter the position. I think they goofed not pushing for Jalen Goss when they had the chance but Herb thought he was gonna pull one of those FL kids then bailed. It worked out tho as AU landed Driscoll. Hopefully we don't need another grad transfer after this cycle
KN keeps saying AU fans will just have to be patient when it comes to OL. It stinks considering what happened last cycle but we will see what happens

Well the good news is when Jakai decommits our rating per commit average goes up from 91.5 to 92.02

It won’t hurt my feelings if Clark wants to move on.
Gus & Co used redshirts to keep us surprisingly young at the position even though it feels like Ashley and Trox are seniors. We need quality guys this class (and every class) but let’s look at the roster.
Stutts - Fr
Irvin - Fr
Brahms -rsFr
Ashley - rsFr
Troxell - rsFr
Tashawn Manning - rsFr
Hamm - rsFr
Sammons - So
Tega, Harrel, Sharp, Horton, Driscoll, Kim - Juniors
No seniors and I don’t see anyone making the jump as a junior unless they go out of their mind this year (I’m happy to have that happen). That’s 14 scholarship OL with half being Freshman or rsFreshman. We have some time.
There’s a point where I hit the panic button but I’m not there yet. There’s deficiencies at OT but we don’t need to load up yet

I think if we can ever get that 2nd OT in this class a lot of people will feel a lot better. I think we end up with at least one from Webb/Putnam/Bell

Any word on the Patterson kid? Is T-Will still after him?
