FYI LSU 247 mods seem to think LSU might be trending for Emery again. If they were to land him, no way I see Cain also landing there. Could help push him to AU....

Just to follow up, MSST mods now reporting Emery could commit to LSU any day now

Might end up an AU/TEX race now for Cain tho I think UGA is a sleeper to watch

From what I've observed the last several years, AU tries hard every summer, real hard, but no matter what it is a longggg lull for us and the big dog targets are everywhere else. Every year. Everyone gets nervous AU is fading as the once favorites back in Spring for many.

Not concerned.

The season is when AU gets hot and recruits see our game day atmosphere. That's when they see Auburn at its best, the special place it is. We get a few meh commits, they start shooting up the recruiting site rankings. Other programs start to not meet preseason expectations, Gus figures out offense and we get rolling.

And then in December we roll some more in selling our "needs" and early opportunity. A little different now with bowl practices and early signing period but this is where we used to steal some committed to others. Thats when the late offers/pitches from Bama and other elite schools start that "really makes [recruit] think" because that "dream school" just offered after saying F you for so long, after watching senior tape.

We close with a few more in January with a couple surprises, one or two on NSD with a couple letdowns, and move on, start talking transfers at a couple positions we didn't hit on 100%.

Summer feels like we're always bridesmaiding although a little different with Bama AND UGA building big, but we're doing better this year. I've learned to wait until the season. And we've got a couple targets w/ August announcements I think.

I can handle UGA doing well in recruiting as long as it doesn’t translate to championships. I don’t know if I can handle them winning a natty because unlike Bama fans a vast majority haven’t been there before and they will act like it. Kirby is undoubtedly an elite recruiter, but I don’t understand the media dick riding him and the argument that he is already an elite coach when it comes to player development/scheme after only two years.

Damnit. I thought we wanted him at C.
Combo Guard or Tackle per 2 people connected to the program FWIW. One of them is WDE & he says WP is our #1 OT target now.

3* OT Charles Cross - FSU
We probably needed to get him here next weekend to have a legit shot with him.

Don't just assume RG will pull it out at the end; we are losing battles and that is a concern.
I don't get this thought process. Gordon & Handy were top targets for CRG for a while & we landed them. We also lead for 2 other long time targets in Derick Hall & Colby Wooden. Yes we missed on targets Pickering, Egbiogbe, & likely miss Charles Moore too but landing 4 of your early top targets is good work if that happens & holds.

Or they can take Cain & Emery. I wouldn't mind getting on & stealing Tyrion Davis.

Good thing for AU is they have already had their biggest event in Big Cat Weekend. Obviously would love to have all those guys back but it ain't happening with literally everybody else having big events too
Yeah but the new extended dead periods has likely hurt us. Before there was 2 or 3 weekends in late July-Early August for recruits to visit schools. Now there's only 1. Since we aren't a state school it might behoove us to start having our Summer even on a Monday or Thursday of that open period. Then again, most high schools have started their practices for the season so

No idea where this dude is on our board but 3* S Quinton Newsome named a top 3 of AU/UGA/NEB. My guess is NEB is the favorite

KN says that Noah Cain is planning on waiting until December to announce no matter what. Says he thinks Emery picking AU can help but only info he has for sure right now is that Cain isn't gonna commit until later this year

At what? We’ve beaten them three times in football since 2005. Hell, one of those years it is a pretty hallow win since we got our shite pushed in a few weeks later in the playoff play in game. Unfortunately for us, Ray Goff and Jim Donnan ain’t walking through that door.

If you’re old enough to remember 1980, you know this to be absolutely 100% accurate.

Agree lately has been rough on us but overall, we are pretty close with them.

He’s been on record for a while now saying he was going to visit both schools one more time. What I won’t like is if he visits Clemson and doesn’t visit Auburn in the coming week since there’s another dead period coming that lasts the entire month of August.
