We know he was once highly thought of as a QB prospect. We also know he’s a great athlete. Beyond that is a mystery but we will have a young QB room once Stidham leaves and it would be nice to have an older guy in the room.

There’s not a ton of information on him from his HS days. Seems like it was clear to most folks that he was going to be drafted high by a MLB team

How should we feel about that? Is he a legit prospect?
Maybe good?

Perhaps then we could move Gatewood to RB.

4* LB Vonta Bentley posted this on Twitter today. Wonder if AU might start recruiting him harder with Starks to LSU & Deloach trending FSU

I hope LSU or NC State wows him.. Give me another OL, DL, LB.. anything over a guy who won't see the field. Just my opinion, but he won't see the field at any of the 3 schools. He wasn't bad in high school. but he's been away from the game for like 6 years, he's left handed so we would have to change plays, we already have 3 potentially good QBs on the roster next year, we have good recruits looking at us for near year and the year after already.. A couple weeks ago we weren't sure if we would have room for someone like Dunmore, but now we have room for a project QB? I'll pass.

Edit- Also don't agree with giving him a scholarship when the team would pay for his college. If he wants to walk on, fine, but he shouldn't get an offer that could go to someone else.

He's counting against 2018 numbers which is why different from John Dunmore and 2019 #'s questions

Tho if we don't use that scholly I think we would have extra spot for 2019 but don't know for sure. E knows that stuff better

I'm perfectly willing to accept that I'm dumb... Are you saying he would count towards last years class? I thought he would count in this years group?

He will be apart of the team in 2018 so basically a late signee

So basically he's taking Kayode Oladele spot

If that's the case then I'm all aboard and don't see a downside to it. I was under the impression signing him would cost us a spot for someone this year. Thanks for the correction Paw.

Javarius Davis to OT, too. The opposing defenses would be incredibly puzzled so it might work.

Not sure it really matters but we are in top four for Christian Harris.

Kind of my sentiments too. Not like Sandberg would be the best option of the three, but I have nightmares of Stidham getting hurt this year, and having a mature veteran (albeit in another sport) could help keep the wheels on. As long as it doesnt hurt Bo Nix's relationship, which Paw has confidently said it wont, I'm fine with it.

Didn't the rumor mill say he's probably not becoming THE-QB and the guy is about Derrick Henry side and can run... so we'd have (with the new transfer guy) probably adequate numbers at QB and a gain hoss with great hands in a year we haven't had great success with lining up a quality RB's. It'd save a recruiting slot. And with new transfer rules you think he's going to stay three more years if he's the athlete he's been billed?

Stupid maybe but I don't get paid millions to do it so oh well. . . . (btw: If i got the rumor wrong - my bad)
