Seems like a longshot but we will see. There's like 10+ CB picks in for SCAR right now

Had a nice chat with Jimbo Fisher this morning during breakfast at our hotel in Montgomery. Asked him who he was in town to see he said James Foster and Tank Jenkins.
Pretty cool guy.. kind of came off as the used car salesman type with lots of gold rings on and a button down shirt that would of made Gene Chizik jealous.

quote:It's a double standard & Barton Simmons (Ironic his initials are Bull shite) is pissing me off. On some kids he has said the rating was based on how the kid fit the college system he is going to. Then other times he has said college fit doesn't matter & made the rating based on pro potential. He needs to pick 1 way & stick w/ it, the little bitch.
i dont know if this is meant to be a joke, but you are actually right
i remember 24/7 mods confirming that they alter rankings based on NFL projections with a kid signing with a certain team
for example: John doe is a 3 star. John doe commits to Auburn, and because he fits well with their system, he may be bumped to a 4 star eventually. However, he decommits from Auburn and commits to Bama. 24/7 gives kid high 4 star ranking because of his projection and it being bama
no shite

quote:FTR we have gotten our share of bumps too. We had a net gain of over a 100 spot jump in individual rankings on the last 247 update for the 2018 class.
No I am dead serious. How many players rankings go up after they either sign with or get an offer from Bama or UGA? I would love to see the numbers.

Whatever happened to that grad transfer from Stanford who was previously a top 100 recruit? Why aren't we going after him????

Exactly.
I don't care how it's done but make it consistent. 24/7 has no consistency whatsoever

good one, like we are going to recruit that state. Could you do Colorado now please? We might actually sign a kid from that state
You been in a coma for the past 2 weeks? We've basically camped in Mississippi with Marcus Woodson and have offered every legit D1 guy in that state.

It's his schtick. He used to bitch about Garner & his recruiting. Now I guess it's Mississippi recruiting. Means we will probably clean up this year then

Last night KN said he thinks Gouraige will end up visiting tho said that's purely a guess. UF 247 seemed to think chances were good it would happen too. Should find out this morning if it happens a lot. UF 247 said that Gouraige is a very impressionable kid so if he does visit then Gator fans should be concerned. The big draw for UF right now is location because Mom doesn't want Gouraige to be far from home

Wooden has 'instant connection' with new coach at Georgia (Rivals)
Article is mostly about UGA but including it because mentions AU is one of his top schools right now
quote:
THE LATEST: There are still two openings at Georgia on the coaching staff under Kirby Smart, but the one left open when Kevin Sherrer departed for Tennessee to work under longtime friend Jeremy Pruitt has been filled.
Dan Lanning is the new outside linebackers coach in Athens and one of his targets for 2019 is Colby Wooden of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer.
The two had time to get to know one another Saturday and Wooden took an immediate liking to Smart's hire.
IN HIS OWN WORDS: "I felt an instant connection with coach Lanning," said Wooden. "We spent a lot of time together and he said he is adamant about building a strong relationship with me. He is youthful, he has a lot of energy and I really like him.
"I really like the whole staff at Georgia. Being around them was one of the best parts of this visit. I learned more about the academic programs, I got to do the photo shoot in the Georgia uniform and spend time with the coaches.
"The staff's message to me is that I am a priority for them. The staff makes the environment there electric and I really enjoy it. There is a level of energy there, the coaches are good guys and they make it feel like family.
"I have been talking to Georgia almost every day for a while. They are showing a lot of attention and I just like the coaching staff a lot. Coach Lanning is my new recruiter and we are getting to know each other, but our time together Saturday went very well.
"My top schools have changed a little. I had Georgia and Duke up there a while back, but now it is Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee. I have added new offers and I have new schools on top. The coaches and the atmosphere are probably my favorite things about Georgia."
RIVALS REACTION: Wooden has visited Georgia numerous times and he is very comfortable in Athens. Lanning and he really hit it off right away, so that is good for Georgia. Tennessee is a school that has made a move here and Wooden will be in Knoxville Saturday. He likes what Pruitt is doing there with the staff. He has visited Auburn too and he is close with Travis Williams and Rodney Garner. New schools could still enter this race because Wooden's list is far from final. He does not plan to make a decision until after his senior season.

No. 2 OLB in 2019 impressed with Auburn visit (Rivals)
quote:
AUBURN | Horn Lake linebacker Nakobe Dean, Mississippi’s No. 1 player in the 2019 class, visited Auburn last weekend.
It was Dean’s first visit to Auburn.
“It was great. I loved the place,” Dean said. “I loved the atmosphere and the people. It felt like home even though it was my first time here.”
Dean and teammate Raydarious Jones arrived Saturday and stayed until Sunday.
“We hung out with some players, explored Auburn,” Dean said.
Dean’s interest in Auburn stems from Auburn’s interest in him. New assistant coach Marcus Woodson is heavily recruiting Dean, and the two already have developed a bond.
“He is a great guy,” Dean said. “He’s positive. He’s always saying to ‘get your mind right.’”
Dean spent time with Woodson during the visit as well as linebackers coach Travis Williams.
“I always say I want a family feel to the university,” Dean said. “And everybody’s a family around here. You can tell.”
Dean plans to return to Auburn either in the spring or summer. He doesn’t list any early favorites, but Auburn made an impression.
“They definitely impressed me,” Dean said. “I just love the feel at Auburn.”
As a junior, Dean recorded 147 tackles, including 95 solos, and nine sacks.
Rivals ranks Dean, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 215 pounds, the No. 2 outside linebacker and No. 47 overall recruit in 2019.

4-star OT Dylan Wonnum breaks down recruitment (247)
Interesting note on the internship. Still doesn't look good but you never know this time of year
quote:
Dylan Wonnum, the 4-star offensive tackle from Tucker (Ga.), is ready to make his college choice.
He'll do it Saturday on social media (his Twitter handle is @DylanWonnum74).
"I'm excited; it feels good," Wonnum told the SEC Recruiting Buzz podcast. "I'm ready to get my recruitment process over and everything. It's treated me well. It's been good but it's just so long. Everybody hitting your phone up and everything. But it's been good, though."
Wonnum, the No. 178 overall prospect nationally in the 247Sports Composite, officially visited Auburn on Jan. 12. He's also strongly considering South Carolina and Tennessee. The Gamecocks are a heavy favorite in the 247Sports Cyrstal Ball. His brother plays for them.
"The visit (to Auburn) was good," Wonnum said. "I learned a lot there. They told me about the internship for my major and everything like that so I really enjoyed it."
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn visited Wonnum for an in-home visit earlier this week.
"It went good -- we had a good little conversation," Wonnum said. "It was just reiterating everything. What you see is what you get. They're very interested in having me."
