3. Harold Joiner could commit this week … maybe?
I’ll say this: I would be surprised if he did.
With that said, Joiner told me it’s possible, as first reported by Keith Niebuhr of 247Sports late Tuesday. Joiner talked with SEC Country this week about the LSU communication mishap that has put his recruitment in a whirlwind. He has an Auburn official visit set up for Jan. 12.
If Auburn is the choice for Joiner, I think his decision doesn’t come until after that official visit. If it’s another school, I’m not ruling out the possibility of a Saturday commitment during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl broadcast.
I’ll keep you posted on more Joiner updates if they surface.

UA All-America Game: Players predict where uncommitted will sign (Rivals)
quote:
KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Most players at this year’s Under Armour All-America game have put their college recruitments in the past. The bulk of the participants signed a letter of intent during the early signing period in December and are locked in. Some, however, have maintained some level of mystery. This week, Rivals.com gave a number of All-Americans the chance to guess where their unsigned peers may land. Those responses are listed below.

quote:
4* WR Anthony Schwartz
“I don’t know. I think Auburn is a fit for him.” – Miami signee Delone Scaife
“Alabama I think. It’s close, though.” – Florida State signee Asante Samuel
“He’s going to Auburn. That’s for sure.” – Uncommitted four-star Jacob Copeland
“He’s coming to Auburn with me. I think so, anyway. I’m not 100 percent sure, but I think he’s coming to Auburn.” – Auburn commit Joey Gatewood
“He’s going to Auburn. It’s just a good school for him and he’s always tweeting about them.” – Miami commit Brevin Jordan
“Auburn. You can tell he favors Auburn a lot.” – Louisville commit Robert Hicks
"Georgia? I have seen them in his top schools and they have a good class coming in, so that sounds good for him." – Uncommitted defensive end Tyreke Smith

4* WR Jacob Copeland
“He’s from up in North Florida, right? He was committed to Florida at first. I don’t know where, but I know I see him at an SEC school.” – Scaife
“Florida. I think Florida just because.” – Florida State signee Robert Cooper
“I think he’s going to Florida. I’m just guessing because he has Emory (Jones) there.” – Gatewood
“He likes Clemson and Georgia now. I know that, so I’ll say one of those. He fits the program.” – Hicks
Honestly haven't been impressed with Copeland in 1v1 tapes I have seen. Expected him to be a tough guy to cover but struggles to get consistent separation. Obviously still a really good player but I always thought of him as a 5* talent until this week

quote:
5* WR Justyn Ross
“Alabama. I promise I’m not just saying Alabama for everybody.” – Samuel
“Clemson. He’s a big body and Clemson likes big bodies. He fits that program because he’s physical.” – Copeland
“I want him to come to Auburn, but I don’t know where he’s going.” – Gatewood
“Hmmm. He’s tough. I’ll say Georgia. He fits there and he stays talking about them on Twitter.” – Hicks
“I haven't for real talked to him, but I think I saw that Clemson is the front-runner for him, so that's what I'll go with." -- Smith

quote:
4* WR Justin Watkins
“Alabama” – Samuel
“We were just talking about it. He hasn’t told me about his leaders, so I won’t guess.” – Copeland
“I have no clue on him. He’s been committed to every school in the country already, so I have no clue.” – Gatewood
“He’s hard. I have no idea. I’ll just guess a school. Tennessee?” – Hicks
This dude's recruitment has been absurd. Has decommitted three times I believe and wanted to commit at game but neither LSU nor Bama will take him right now. Looks like UF is gonna take him instead

4* OT Dylan Wonnum
“I don’t really know his top schools. I know he has the brother at South Carolina. And I don’t know if all of us are the same, but a lot of us don’t want to follow our brothers. We don’t like that. I just know he’ll stay in the SEC.” -- Cooper
“South Carolina.” - Florida signee Trey Dean
“Auburn.” – Florida signee Emory Jones
“South Carolina.” – Georgia signee Brenton Cox

I never thought he was that dynamic of a player. Think he's just kind of a tweener WR. Doesn't do any 1 thing particularly elite.

Highly doubt we told him we don't want him but either way he was apparently going wherever Jeremy Pruitt went
My guess is, Propst and Pruitt had an arrangement to "help the kid and his family" upon following Pruitt (whether that be at Bama or UT).

I'm not high on signing another RB.

Honestly I agree. I don't think highly enough of Smoke or Joiner to take em in this class. Would rather take another DL or OL over them
Plus 2019 RB class is loaded

No teams seem to be really high on Joiner. Why is he rated so high?
Posted on 1/4/18 at 10:20 am to WarDamn101
Athletically, he is as good as they come. The problem is he is hard set on being a RB when he is a much more natural HB/TE hybrid. He is rated high because of his abilities. Teams aren't high on him, because he has been pretty stubborn about only wanting to play RB.

Exactly. Most sites have him as an "athlete" & evaluating him as that he's a clear top 200 player. Problem is he thinks he's a bellcow RB but he doesn't run like one. He's a finesse runner in a 6'3" 215 lb body. If he learns to run behind his pads he could be really good but he would probably be a better weapon on the perimeter in the passing game right now

One would expect that he would eventually get moved to TE if he did sign with us, so I am totally ok signing him and not taking a TE.

KN says 2019 LSU commit 4* RB Tyrion Davis wants to visit AU. Horton trying to get him on campus
FWIW he's 6'2" 230 lbs... Says he's not "flat out committed"

I know it's early but I am pretty pumped about RB class in 2019. AU should be able to land 2 studs next year. John Emery out of LA is top of my wish list but state of GA has a ton of dudes too. He's not gotten a ton of love yet from recruiting services but keep an eye on Tyler Goodson out of North Gwinnett. Led team to 7A state title this past season. Also Derrian Brown is high on AU & could be an early commit this summer

Which ones does UGA want so I can go ahead and cross them off my list?
