I think the issue is you have been openly critical of every CB target that's not the guy you really like. Basically you aren't high on any of our CBs (including Tutt) which is fine if it wasn't for the fact that you seem to have a personal relationship with another recruit that you really want AU to offer. It's hard for people to take your opinion then as objective. You can find fault in really any prospect if you look hard enough
Not every guy, I really want Cam Taylor lol, but I don't have a personal relationship with the Stephens.. I live in the same city and I spoke once on twitter when I asked about his recruitment. He also plays in the same region as our only CB commit(Tutt), so I feel like its fair to compare them, especially when I live close enough to both that I've seen them both play more than most people. Other than that I agree with you, which is why I haven't brought DT Stephens up in a while. A lot more schools have offered/visited, but he's not on our radar right now and until or unless he is there's no reason to bring him up.
My concerns about our CB target's is separate though. I was concerned about height and weight of 2 guys, but I admit that's partially about preference and about me thinking I remembered that coaches wanted taller CB's. I love Cam Taylor and wish we would take him today. I would also love for us to find a way to get back into it with Jaycee Horn, but I don't see that happening. I really like Tutt and I'm glad we got him, I don't like him as much as some, but I still like his talent. I love 99% of our class/offers, just not sold on a couple players yet.
You're probably the person to ask here too... any idea what Malik Miller's 40 time is? I know many things factor in 40 time, obviously. Jackson reminds me of Miller so I really want to look more into him because I like Miller and think he could be really solid for us if he was given a shot(think Peyton Barber, underrated but steady and probably just won the starting job in Tampa).

Inb4 he comes in here and bitches about how mean y'all are to him

Looking forward to our new resident film evaluator, jt## to give us his thoughts. It’s my interpretation that he has evaluated McCreary’s film. But he’s currently sparing us his thoughts
Actually, I know zero about him, I would be surprised if he's actually a take for Bama at this point though. As far as I can tell their CB slots are almost full.
And I couldn't care less if you're "mean" to me lol. Half the people who post here melt every other day because they don't know anything about football. Be "mean" all day if it makes you happy lol.

Good you aren’t as sensitive as some others. Also bonus points for saying couldn’t care less instead of could care less.

Nothing to be sensitive about, it's football. I also found an article talking about our coaches wanting more size in the secondary.... problem is it was McGriff who said it lol, so that's on me.

I'll spare everyone my feelings on McCreary lol.
This is why I singled you out here. And I’m not being mean, you seem thick skinned. Let’s hear those feelings baw.

Not sure. Quick search couldn't find anythings. I think Jackson has a bit more wiggle than Miller but ya I think he's definitely more of a big back type

Alright so with Siposs on board AU has 19 commitments which means we have 6 spots left. Sounds like we are in good shape for Kayode Oladele & Anthony Schwartz. I personally think Andres Fox is a silent as well so that could mean there are only 3 spots left. Either way, this is how I think it shakes out right now
4* WR Anthony Schwartz
4* DE Kayode Oladele
3* DL Andres Fox
Offensive Tackle
Cornerback
Best Available Player
Sounds like we would really like a TE as well so interested to see if maybe someone like Nathaniel Watson takes that last spot. Honestly not sure how this all shakes out. Doesn't appear like AU plans on processing anyone but will be interesting to see if someone committed randomly decides not to sign next Wednesday

Auburn commits Asa Martin, Shedrick Jackson will join Tigers sooner than expected (AL.com)
quote:
Auburn won't have to worry about protecting the commitments of running back Asa Martin or receiver Shedrick Jackson.
They'll be in Auburn next week.
The two Auburn commitments confirmed after today's Alabama all-star practice in Hattiesburg, Mississippi that they plan to sign Dec. 20 when the new early signing period begins and enroll in January. But they added a new twist, with both saying they will report directly to Auburn after Saturday's all-star game and participate in on-campus Peach Bowl practices from Dec. 18-21.
"If you're ready to go, why not?" Martin said.
Martin, a 4-star running back from Austin, and Jackson, a 3-star receiver from Hoover, are in Hattiesburg for this week's Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic. The teams arrived Monday and have been practicing twice daily to get ready for Saturday's all-star game, set for noon at M.M. Roberts Stadium on the campus of Southern Miss.
Jackson capped his senior season with six catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns in last week's 48-20 victory over McGill-Toolen in the AHSAA Class 7A championship game. He finished the season with 48 catches for 979 yards and nine touchdowns.
Martin finished 2017 with 198 carries for 2,228 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns while splitting time with teammate Antonio Robinson, a Coastal Carolina commit who also ran for 1,391 yards. In the season-ending 51-50 overtime to loss to eventual Class 6A champ Pinson Valley in the semifinals, Martin ran for 261 yards and scored on TD runs of 59, 5 and 67 yards and threw a 41-yard pass.
No. 7 Auburn (10-3) will face No. 12 UCF (12-0) on Jan. 1, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Martin and Jackson won't travel to Atlanta with the Tigers as they prepare to meet Central Florida in the Peach Bowl on New Year's Day, but both agreed that taking part in next week's bowl practices should help them take the first step toward earning immediate playing time in 2018.
"I'm very serious about football, and anything I can do to get better, I'll do it," Jackson said.
Jackson looks strong and fluid in today's morning practice, catching two long passes and beating his man on a fade route from Jack West during a goal-line period.

Fair point, but I honestly meant that more in jest than anything since people were already tired of me talking about CB's. I looked at his profile and that was it. He fits the same measurables as our other targets so obviously that's what our coaches are looking for. I'm fine with it.
I would agree about Jackson having more wiggle than Miller I just meant from a size comparison I think he's the closest match. Either way he's a 2020, I'll think about him more in a couple of years if both sides are still interested lol.

You giving up on Quay? I guess it's not looking great...

Not completely. He could end up being that "best available player" spot. I honestly have no idea really how this shakes out. There are a lot of names but not many spots & considering we know for sure AU wants at least one more CB & an OT, there's really just 4 spots for everybody else

Schwartz planning to commit January 4th @ Under Armour All-american Game. Looking good for AU

I have to wonder if another big name wants to commit if we wouldn't ask the punter to hold off for a little while.
Posted on 12/13/17 at 9:20 pm to jt33
Don't underestimate what effect a really good punter can have.
Posted on 12/13/17 at 9:55 pm to JamalSanders
Definitely not underestimating a punter, that's why I said maybe if a big name.. Ross, etc. I'm not sure if punting was the main problem this year or if it was more so coverage, maybe someone else knows. I was wondering. It's going to be interesting to see how these last few spots end up.

I recall a lot of 35 yard punts...
