#2 in the SEC behind UGA and #8 in the country. Alabama isn't far behind in the rankings but they have 4 less recruits than us. I don't follow recruiting at all, but what I've seen looks good

Oh, our fan base will find something about our recruiting class to complain about. Turbo and Luke are licking their chops on the potential thread material.

It's good but DB and OT and two glaring holes that need addressing. Also wish we could have got Jarren Williams. Since when does Richt recruit DT QBs?

TigerPaw, any news on Brenton Cox and AU after his decommitment? Possibly another late Georgia DL pull for Garner?

Bama/UGA battle. Kid never really gave AU a chance. Fwiw his coach posts on Bama 247 board and has been working hard to get him to Tuscaloosa. I don't think its coincidence we haven't been a factor...

It's gotta chance to be one of Malzahns best. Doesn't have that high end 5* but could end up being class with largest percentage of 4*s. AU has been able to get most guys near top of their lists.
Need an OT and a CB. Everything else is gravy

Both Jackson and Pickens both have a long TD tonight
Posted on 12/6/17 at 8:38 pm to TigerPaw1
Here's part of a halftime update from AL.com
Pickens also muffed a punt inside the 15 though.

Hoover senior Shedrick Jackson has four catches for 135 yards and a 70-yard TD, and junior George Pickens has TD catches of 54 and 7 yards. Jackson and Pickens are committed to Auburn.

From the Bama board...
Probably B.S. because it's all about Saban but man if this helped us land a JAD actually get Quay to flip or Peterson that would be amazing.

BOL says these are the recruits that could be affected by Pruitt leaving:
Jalyn Armour-Davis
Andres Fox
JJ Peterson (fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck)
Jacob Copeland
Brenton Cox (fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck)
Quay Walker
Vernon Jackson
Josh Jobe
Patrick Surtain
Tyson Campbell

Unless he visits or shows any sort of interest in AU, I don't see anything changing with him. Since he committed to Bama doesn't look like he's given AU any attention. Maybe if Pruitt took Ansley with him that might open a door but I think he's as solid as a recruit can be
quote:
Andres Fox
I have nothing backing this up but I think Fox is a silent commit to AU. Bama recently offered 3* Malik Langham and have started talking to recent LSU decommit JaQuon Griffin. They seem to be heading to backup plans at DL. I do think Pruitt leaving probably helps us further with Fox

JJ Peterson (fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck)
This is one to watch for sure. Dude is VERY close with Pruitt. You wonder if Tennessee now has a shot at him. It could get real interesting if Pruitt were to bring Propst onto his staff. Don't know if that will happen or not but something to watch. I definitely think of all the recruits Pruitt leaving has biggest affect on Peterson
quote:
Quay Walker
I am sure it helps but Ansley is his lead recruiter. Now if Pruitt were to poach Ansley away....
Obviously a staff shakeup can help open some doors. It's going to be real interesting to see what Pruitt does staff wise. Cheering hard for him to poach one of Derrick Ansley or Tosh Lupoi as his own DC. Either one leaving would really help AU

Rusty Mansell is on Bill King this morning saying that "if" Propst goes to Tennessee expect them to be an IMMEDIATE player for JJ Peterson with him and Pruitt both at Knoxville

KN says AU visited 3* CD Daniels yesterday. He's still waiting on an offer. Interested to see if Daniels or Cam Taylor get the offer if we strikeout on whomever our top other target is right now
Speaking of CB recruiting, KN posted a quick update yesterday. Says probably won't find out new name until Monday/Tuesday. Says wouldn't be surprised to see some JUCO names pop up. AU is doing a ton of evaluating right now looking for an impact player at CB
REALLY hoping we can get Kelvin Joseph on campus. That name keeps getting floated around but not sure how legit our chance with him is or not. Interested to see if he takes an OV at some point. Not sure who the JUCO names might be. Some interesting prospects based off a quick look at JUCO rankings:
3* Joshua Norwood - Originally from Valdosta, goes to JUCO in MS. WV commit
3* Keith Washington - has visited AU before
3* Delrick Abrams Jr - long frame that Brown likes, currently committed to Colorado
3* Antonio Nelson - Originally from AL, goes to JUCO in OK

Ya if Pruitt were to hire Propst I think Peterson would almost be a lock for Tennessee at that point. I could live with that because would screw Bama over more than us

Why are we talking about 3 stars. You promised an all 4 star class

KN also put up an update on 4* OT Richard Gouraige. Says multiple sources think AU is making up some major ground on him & area legit threat to flip him from Florida. He does not plan on signing early so lots of time left to work on him. Herb Hand & Tim Horton visited him this week & he's expected to take an OV in January. It's expected that this will end up an AU/UF battle (tho I say watch out for Clemson if they decide to make a push). AU is also battling UF for 3* OT Jerome Carvin & there's a good chance Gators are gonna land him this weekend if he takes an unofficial visit. That COULD help us out with Gouraige. We will see
Trey Hill & Richard Gouraige would be the perfect way to finish off this OL class

This thread has been going far too well in recent weeks with people all happy about this class. It's important to keep our negatigers fed as well

Urban Meyer visited 4* CB Christian Tutt today. They finished #2 for him earlier this fall. AU expected to see him today I believe
AU plans on visiting 4* LB Quay Walker this Friday. Travis Williams is going to attend his basketball game. Walker will not sign early so lots of time to flip him as well

Changes in 247Sports' rankings for Tigers commits, targets (247)
Somehow they don't have Asa Martin in the top 247.... 247 apparently is gonna check him out at the AL/MS All-Star game next weekend but that's still crazy to me that he's not already in their top 247 players
quote:
Several Auburn commits and targets made moves in the latest update of the Top247 from 247Sports. Some went up. Some went down.

Of note, several Auburn commits and targets will have a chance to improve their stock at upcoming all-star games.
247Sports will have more ranking updates coming.
