2020 defensive lineman has Auburn on top
It’s still early for 2020 target Andy Boykin, but he’s already starting to carve out a home in Auburn.
He’s attended two of Auburn’s three home games so far this season, and that isn’t a coincidence. The Troup County (Ga.) defensive lineman communicates with defensive line coach Rodney Garner and Malzahn more regularly than coaches at any other school.
He has offers from Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Troy and Syracuse. Early in the process, there are many more sure to come.
For now, Auburn sits in prime position.
“Auburn is my leader right now. Every time I go there, they show incredible hospitality,” Boykin told SEC Country. “They show me love. I’m great with Coach Garner, Coach Malzahn. It’s just a specific bond and a family down there.”
SEC Country spoke with him on Friday night right after his team’s high school game.
He set a strangely specific request for what he wanted to see at the Auburn-Mississippi State game.
“I want to see that defense hold them to at least 12, but I’ll take anything,” Boykin said.
Boykin got his wish. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end — who thinks there’s a strong chance he winds up as a defensive tackle as he develops physically — was up close as the Tigers held Mississippi State to 10 points.
That's hilarious that dude made up a random goal for defense to meet and they met it
Boykin is going to be a top player in the 2020 class. Big to be on top early for him

AU lock amirite?
On a serious note though doesn't Troup have two other big studs in the 19 and 20 classes? That African LB and a receiver or safety or something?

Nothing screams AU lock like 235lb DE turning into a DT

Yup. Troup County is loaded
2019 4* LB King Mwikuta (Bama lean but AU is in the hunt)
2020 5* WR Kobe Hudson
2020 NR DE Andy Boykin
Also a 2019 3* LB Joco Willis who might rise some in the rankings

Huge news! KN reporting that Coynis Miller will be at AU game this Saturday, not the UF/LSU game. Always thought if we get him on campus this Saturday we land him

4* LB Quay Walker
FSU also trying hard to flip him

Yup. Good news is he hasn't visited them in awhile and they off to slow start. T-WILL and Big Kat are big positives for us in this recruitment

Anyone know his season stats thus far?

According to UF 247 Jamien Sherwood expected back on a visit for LSU game. Richard Jibunor is a maybe

I don't know who from who in the recruiting world but John Garcia Jr of Scout is saying Auburn is back in the mix with J Fields.
There are things all over the internet with this top talent, as per usual. He was in Tuscaloosa over the weekend for his second official visit, but I'm told Alabama isn't truly in this race (as has long been suggested).
Georgia continues to hold the most buzz, and I think it's legit. But the additional buzz has been mostly FSU with many feeling Auburn is a distant third, at best, with the top dual-threat QB in America.
As of the weekend and into this morning, I am actually hearing something a bit different. I'm hearing that not only is Fields not done with the process (which some of the UGA buzz has suggested with silent commitments and whatnot), but I'm hearing it's Auburn currently in the second position and not Florida State.
There are many dominoes to fall with QB recruiting in the South considering Fields is still on the board and many committed QBs are taking visits, but Auburn is still very much in the mix for Fields. Obviously getting him back on campus is the next step and just as obvious, the better Stidham has been looking, the more AU buzz I pick up. Gonna be a highly-contested finish here.

Hmmmmmm.... If we can get him on campus this weekend then I will start to believe. My concern is both Will & KN have reported it's over with Fields. Hopefully that's some misdirection on the staff's part but need to see him visit before I get hopes up at all
Thanks for info man

I talked to two people today who have daily contact with him and both said he is announcing Friday at his homecoming pep rally and one says he knows where he's going but isn't telling and the other said it's UGA.
If he announces Friday it's almost 100% got to be UGA I would think

LSU just lost one of their top commits, 4* DB Kelvin Joseph. Probably Bama bound but would love to see if we could get in the game. Hoping our D will catch some of these top guy's attention

Yea we definitely need a top corner in this class. If we can't flip McMichael I hope we can make a push for Savion Smith.

Agreed but Smith is longshot right now. Loves him some Bama. Expect Joseph commits to Tide too. They are taking a ton of DBs this class
I still hope we take Foucha as a CB/nickel guy
