I don't want to start an argument, but we hear that every few years with a different prospect. Reed, Smith, etc. Our track record at converting, then developing pure athletes is terrible. Gatewood is having issues dominating HS kids, so I am skeptical that he will compete at a high level verses SEC talent. I could be wrong, hope I am, but his performance doesn't justify his hype ATM.

It was an attempt at sarcasm... I am well aware of your dislike as it's a weekly post from you

Uhhh wut? Dude has been a beast in high school. Has basically scored every type of way you can imagine. Yes he splits snaps but that's because their coach wants all those guys to get recruited. Gatewood is an elite athlete. Whether or not he becomes a college QB I don't know. But dude has proven to be the best athlete on the field in high school

KN says 4* OG Tank Jenkins and 3* ATH Cam Taylor are visiting. Taylor is interesting prospect. Was hurt last year at Prattville, transferred to Park Crossing and is QB there this year. Had impressive spring game against Hoover. Will be a WR or DB at next level. With strong season or camp might end up an AU target

Auburn hosting "Tiger Night" camp for top rising juniors(247)

t's camp season for colleges and Auburn is hosting one its more imporant ones Friday.
It's called "Tiger Night" -- and it's for top rising juniors.
Some of them already are know to those who follow recruiting. Others have not yet burst on the scene. But while you might not recognize a lot of the names a lot of these players are likely to be Power 5 recruits for the 2019 class.
I'll add new names as I learn more ... Below are the players I've confirmed so far:
***
TE -- Ryland Goede of Kennesaw Mountain (Ga.): No. 65 overall recruit in the country and a MAJOR Auburn target. Auburn and Georgia probably are his top two right now.
TE -- Messiah Swinson of Glen Head (NY) Long Island Lutheran: Intriguing prospect with offers from programs such as Boston College and NC State. He's 6-feet-8, 232.
***
I'll be adding names below as we learn more ....

4* DT Coynis Miller is not camping with Bama today according to their 247. Not sure it means much but always nice when targets don't visit rival

One's that stay successful usually do.
And those successful who don't adapt are likely in a place with little to no competition. Even Saban changes, rant he did about the hurry up, till finally he brought some of it home.

quote:How so? Yes he has accuracy issues which is something he is working on & why he has to split QB reps. When he is not at QB though he is at WR or RB & dominating at those positions. It's not like he is riding the pine when he isn't taking QB snaps.

6'5" WR out of Hoover George Pickens is camping today. Have heard he might be name to watch in next year's class
Fwiw the 2019 class is really good. Georgia is absolutely loaded and there's gonna be a lot of good instate talent as well. Big year on field this year could also really help us capitalize on big opportunity in 2019

TIFWIW but an insider on the Bunker says on Fields he's not to the point that he would wager on JF to AU, but folks at AU and even FSU feel like we will land him as of now.

3 new Auburn offers out (247)
quote:
Auburn offered three rising junior football prospects following Tiger Night on Friday -- an event for 2019 prospects.
They are:
-George Pickens, WR, Hoover (Ala.)
-Andy Boykin, DE, Troup County (Ga.)
-Howard Allen Jr., OT, Baldwin (Fla.)
***
Here are some nuggets on each:
-Pickens is 6-feet-5 and 190 pounds. Rangy and with excellent hands, he caught everything in sight.
"I feel great about the offer," Pickens said. "I think I did good. But I think I could have shown more on my jump ball. But other than that I did great."
Pickens now has five offers. Auburn is the second from the SEC, joining Mississippi State.
-Boykin is a big-time recruit from right across the Georgia state line. He's every bit of his listed 6-feet-3, 235 pounds.
He now holds eight offers.
"I like Auburn," Boykin said. "Great football team. Great coaches to be around. ... I think if I had to choose right now, Auburn would be the school I choose. But I'm still going to look around."
-Allen is the cousin of Auburn defender Jeff Holland. He's starting to blow up. South Carolina also offered this week.
