Auburn will make ‘top-2 or top-3’ for safety target Joe Foucha who has started to narrow favorites (SECCountry)

Safety calls Auburn the leader after recent visit
AUBURN, Ala. — Joe Foucha’s second visit to Auburn served a much different purpose than the first.
The 3-star safety from New Orleans made a trip to the Plains a month ago simply to see if he felt comfortable at Auburn. Foucha had grown up a self-proclaimed fan of the Tigers and Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton, but he’d never actually been on campus. It passed the litmus test on the first go-around.
His second visit went even further to separate Auburn from his lengthy list of suitors.
“I would say Auburn’s leading right now out of my top 15, and I do see Auburn being in my top-2 or top-3. I’m not sure yet who with, but they’ll definitely be in my top-2 or top-3,” Foucha said. “It’s basically a school I’ve been looking at since I was young. They showed me more than football. It’s on my mind.”
As Foucha referenced above, he’s trimmed his top schools to 15. That list includes Auburn, TCU, Kansas, Oregon, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Arizona State, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas-San Antonio and Texas A&M.
He wants to narrow that to at least five before it gets into the heat of summer, so that he has a chance to visit his top options. Auburn will definitely be in there. The other schools to keep an eye on are Alabama and Florida State. Foucha attended Alabama’s camp shortly after Big Cat Weekend, and his priority with the Crimson Tide will be monitored.
There’s no worries about whether he feels wanted at Auburn.
“Coach (Greg) Brown, he’s a good man. Ever since we first started talking, we haven’t stopped. Sometimes I send him stuff. Sometimes he sends me stuff. Coach T-Will (Travis Williams), he’s a real energetic guy. I love that. It makes me perform well. Energy brings a lot to the table. Coach (Kodi) Burns,” Foucha said. “Those two coaches show a lot of love, more than football. It’s big.”
Foucha isn’t in a huge rush to decide, but he also isn’t ruling out any timetable — long or short.
Auburn has an outstanding chance to land the McDonogh (La.) 35 safety regardless. One of the biggest things that stood out about his Big Cat Weekend visit was that Foucha exchanged phone numbers with a few other secondary prospects who attended the big recruiting event.
“Actually, it’s a few safeties [recruits] I knew. We collabed a while back, and it’s a cornerback, too. Us three guys [Foucha, Jamien Sherwood and Juanyeh Thomas] will be keeping in touch a lot,” Foucha said.
They were three crucial defensive back visitors for Big Cat Weekend. All three exchanged numbers and intend to stay in touch about recruiting. That’s a major positive, especially since all three are top priorities for the Tigers.
Foucha felt like he was able to form memorable bonds with coaches, players and prospects alike, which sets Auburn apart from other visits.
“It’s a traditional school I like. It’s a school I’ve been looking at for a while. Me coming up here and seeing it, it’s changed my thoughts even more, put it up even higher. The coaches, the head coach, he’s a good guy. He’s a caring guy. I met his wife. She cares. It’s more than football. It’s like a family here,” Foucha said. “I’ll be back up here a lot. This is my second time coming. I’ll probably come again. Things are high for Auburn.”

Auburn offers 2020 phenom
Over the next month or so, the college football recruiting world will be asking the same question: Where is Justin Fields going? That question will likely be answered sooner rather than later. Then it’ll become: Where is Bo Nix going?
There’s no doubt who the question will center around when it gets to the 2020 recruiting cycle.
Meet Harrison Bailey.
It’s too early for Bailey to be ranked by most recruiting services. He’s only a rising sophomore, after all. But when he’s eventually ranked, Bailey will be a 5-star from start to finish. He’s already received offers from — get this — Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others.
He added one from Auburn on Monday.
Georgia and Alabama have been on him most in the early going. Bailey recently told SEC Country’s Jeff Sentell that Florida actually classified as his “dream school” growing up. But it’ll be interesting to see how, if at all, Auburn can get into the conversation for the 6-foot-4, 215-pound passer.
Auburn has hit a hot streak at quarterback recently.
This is purely hypothetical — and there is a ton of work left to make this happen — but imagine the 180-degree narrative for the Tigers’ quarterback situation if this possibility were to pan out.
2017 class: Jarrett Stidham, Malik Willis
2018 class: Justin Fields, Joey Gatewood
2019 class: Bo Nix
2020 class: Harrison Bailey
Again, that is a perfect outcome. It’s best-case scenario. But Auburn, maybe more than any program, has so much to gain from successful offensive production this fall. With apparently enhanced quarterback play and a new offensive coordinator, the Tigers have a chance to alter the perception of Auburn as a primetime quarterback destination going forward.
Bailey’s most recent visit to Auburn was for the Clemson game last September.
Pretty sure Bailey is eventually gonna end up at Florida but we will see

Top in-state DE target to make multi-day visit
I’ve been telling Auburn folks to stay positive about about Andres Fox for most of his recruitment.
Despite his Crimson Tide upbringing, Fox has stayed loyal to the fact the Tigers offered him first, immediately following his state championship game performance last fall. He hinted that he’d heard rumblings — true or not — that Alabama and LSU wouldn’t have offered were it not for Auburn’s initial faith in him.
Following Big Cat Weekend, he said he didn’t commit — and hadn’t thought about it — because he promised two programs that he’d take one more visit before making a final decision. What’s interesting about that is he hasn’t had enough time to visit one school, let alone two.
He wants to visit LSU, Alabama, Southern Cal and Stanford (recently offered) before he makes his decision. But a return trip to Auburn can only mean great things for the Tigers.
Fox will be in Auburn for multiple days this time. He’ll be without his parents, who are fully sold on all the schools involved now, so this will be about Fox trying to find his fit within the culture of the program. He hopes to develop a few closer relationships with players on the existing roster, as well as coaches Kevin Steele, Rodney Garner and Travis Williams.
shite I didn't realize Stanford offered. He gone...

FYI Justin Fields was in Athens yesterday and will be at FSU later this week. Both are gonna be tough to beat in this one. I honestly think the Gators end up #4 in this race

LOVE Barrett's potential, but no doubt he is about 25 pounds shy of where he needs to be.

If mom opens up FSU will be our toughest competition. If she doesn't then UGA may be.

New Rivals article out on Jibunor different than the one Paw just posted.
AU & Vols tied at the top followed by Bama, ND, & UF.

UGA has NO film to show him. None, Nada, Nilch.
If he were to commit there, then we would know that his intelligence is not where it needs to be for a game changer IMHO.
He may not wind up at AU, but I believe we have him sold on being the right offense for him to do his thing!
Fox seems to be all AU. Unless he is playing a game with staff.
Jibunor went to camp at UGA last weekend, and didn't get an offer!! (IDIOTS! Just like Lawson)
His relationship with Prince Tega makes us the favorite ATP. In fact, I believe it is a done deal.

KN reporting that 4* OT Christian Armstrong is back on campus. FSU is considered the leader but sounds like AU is making a push. He was on campus for BCW two weeks ago
Personally I am not super high on him but he's got great size and if Ashley/Tega/Sammons all step up he would have time to develop

What happens with Gatewood if we land Fields?
Posted on 6/13/17 at 5:35 pm to BowlJackson
I was told that Chip wants to recruit QB's and not "athletes" who play QB.

It's not clear. Staff wants both tho I believe. Would allow Gatewood time to develop
