3-star DE Andres Fox

My Crystal Ball pick: Auburn

Level of confidence: Medium

Breakdown: According to Fox, he nearly committed to Auburn earlier this year but his mother asked him to hold off. Alabama and LSU also are very much in the mix. He could visit the Tigers again soon.

3-star OLB/Buck Richard Jibunor

My Crystal Ball pick: Auburn

Level of confidence: Medium

Breakdown: Jibunor is extremely close with the Auburn staff. He's also friends with Tigers offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogho, who like himself is a Nigerian native. Auburn probably has recruited him harder than anyone. He'll attend Big Cat Weekend.

KN put up a recruiting insider yesterday. Here's summary

- 4* OT Richard Gouraige appears to have a top 4 right now of UF/LSU/AU/CLEM, in that order. Chip Lindsey visited him last week and Herb Hand is expected to be at his spring game this week. Also sounds like he has clicked with area recruiter Tim Horton. Also he has become friends with AU players after recent visit most notably Kerryon Johnson. He wants to get back to AU this summer but he probably won't make it to BCW. Claims that going out of state won't be a problem. Team to watch here is LSU as he hasn't visited them yet but already has them #2. Sounds like AU is in the hunt but has some serious work to do. KN also says Miami could become a threat as well

- Apparently UNC is pushing hardest for 3* CB Kendric Torain. After that he says AU & UGA are recruiting the hardest. He believes Florida could be offering soon and that could really change things. He was on campus last week and wants to visit again this summer. Apparently he really likes DB coach Greg Brown.

- KN has added two more names to expected BCW visitor list: 4* ATH Nathaniel Watson & 4* LB Zakoby McClain

KN also had more intel on 4* QB Joey Gatewood. Apparently lots of teams are starting push harder for him now. Here's summary

- Interestingly Ohio State stopped by to visit him Monday. They already have 5* Emory Jones committed but AU is still in contact with him. KN wonders if this is a shot across the bow from Buckeye staff. Will be interesting to see if the Buckeyes start pushing harder for Gatewood

- Apparently he is very interested in Alabama. HIs camp wants to know exactly how interested the Bama staff actually is in landing him

- Georgia is after Gatewood real hard right now. They offered earlier this spring and were the first team to see him during the evaluation period. The Dawgs also are looking to sign 2 QBs this cycle

- Despite all that Gatewood is solidly committed to AU but he is going to keep his options open. He is close with Chip Lindsey but wants to see our offense in action this year and make sure as a dual threat QB he's still a fit. It does sound like AU is where he wants to be but he isn't closing any doors

Gatewood's recruitment is going to be interesting. For all of our concerns about his QB ability plenty of top schools are trying to flip him for their class so it's clear that many think he has a high potential. I think if AU has a good season and continues to show him love he sticks with us. We have offered only 1 QB (Justin Fields) since deciding to go after a 2nd QB & two targets about to be off the board: Jarren Williams recommitted to UK & Gerry Bohanon expected to commit to MSST or ARK Friday. Not sure who that 2nd QB is gonna be right now

What does this mean?

These quotes crack me up.

"He cant even start for his HS team." *Gatewood Flips* "Gus strikes out again on premier HS QB." Can see it now.

Basically if you are gonna keep coming after our guy real hard then we will do the same to yours. I get impression KN doesn't really think Buckeyes are that interested. That's my guess

These quotes crack me up.

The best is James Cook saying he's solid to FSU but plans on making final announcement on his recruitment at Army All-American Game

FWIW I think Gatewood is as solid as a highly recruited kid can be but he obviously is going to keep talking with all these schools that are coming hard after him

He will go from super suspect to the top QB in the class in some posters minds

sounds like Master Teague could be announcing very soon.

I was thinking he kind of reminded me of Ben Tate, then Hunter Adams mentioned another comp that I like too.....Mike Blakely (minus all of the off-field/mental issues).

Gonna sound like broken record but I love this kid for our system. I really like the Blakeley comparison. For those posters that are worried about the size of RBs recently this kid should satisfy them. 210 now and could probably end up around 220-225

Also he has a teammate in 2019 class that is legit. Would love to get Teague on board

Blakely was so good in high school. One of my favorite backs we've recruited. Sucks that he couldn't get it straight

Blakeley looked legit when he was on the field.

Emphasis on "when"
