That movie was a horrible mess. Hollywood ruined that one then, 15 years later, took Starship Troopers and thought "how bad can we mess this one up?" End result... pretty damn bad.

Surprising. Usually they bring in preferred walk ons and best one gets the scholarship when available

I really liked Lynch's style and vision. I loved his casting (except MacClachlanbeing too old). I started reading the books after seeing it when I was 10 so I still associate the characters with that movie. But the studios cut it so badly it was hardly recognizable with what he planned.
Really wish they'd give it a Lord of the Rings treatment soon.

AUBURN | Bill Taylor plays on offense and defense for American Christian Academy in Tuscaloosa, but he’ll play special teams for Auburn in college.
Taylor, who Kohl's Kicking ranks the No. 2 long snapper in the 2017 class, has committed to play the position for the Tig
Signing a long snapper was the beginning of the end for Tubs. This might be a sign of things to come.
Come on down Art Briles.

Bad snaps lose games. We've seen it happen before. There's some value in locking down an elite guy

I'm fine with scholarship for long snapper. We've always had one as far as I remember
Just weird that he bring in 2-3 recruited walk-ons and give the best one a scholarship SO/JR year when it opens up

KN says Nick Coe & Marlon Character still working to qualify. Coe should get test scores sometime soon and if high enough he is good. If not has to take summer classes. Character made score high enough but got flagged so had to retake it. Have to wait for that result now but also taking summer classes just in case. AU feels good both will make it on to campus
Also 4* LB Tyler Taylor visiting this weekend. Former teammate of Derrick Brown

It means his score jumped significantly from his previous score. So they flag it as suspicious I guess. Not real sure how they go about it from there, but he already took it again so it doesn't matter.

An example of how a score could be flagged, if someone scored the equivalent of guessing ACT attempt #1 and then scored a 36 , ACT would pump the brakes

There are two ways scores get flagged, the ACT/SAT own system or by the NCAA.
The ACT/SAT allow 3rd parties to report scores that don't match academic records submitted. The NCAA clearinghouse will ask for verification of authenticity if you have big jumps they notice or your score doesn't match with grades

Kinda like how Julio jones scored a 13 and then a 24 a few weeks later
Posted on 6/15/16 at 8:50 am to ChexMix
I know a guy who took it hungover and made like a 16, took it again in a sound state of mind and made like a 29 and it was flagged. Had to retake it but did scored high again.
All that to say it's not just athletes that get flagged.

So if it is a jump in score, it typically is the ACT/SAT who flagged it.
The ACT/SAT don't have grades, ACT doesn't have SAT scores, and other type info though. NCAA gets all that to clear the athletes. So the NCAA will report suspicious circumstances which can also trigger the investigation
Examples, SAT score is 800/2400 and ACT is 28, or has a 2.3 GPA but scored a 33 and things like that.

how would everyone feel about us taking Devan Barrett now as our primary RB in this class instead of waiting on Cam Akers?
I get the feeling we may let Barrett commit if we can get him.

I doubt we get Akers anyway so yeah that'd be good.
