Get to know: Auburn defensive tackle signee Alec Jackson

It's been a dream of mine." He tried to recruit fellow defensive line prospect Ryan Johnson (a 247 Composite 4-star from Mobile), but Johnson committed to Stanford just before signing day.
Will he play in 2017? The Tigers lose Montravius Adams to the NFL, as well as Devaroe Lawrence and Maurice Swain to graduation. However, Dontavius Russell, Andrew Williams and Derrick Brown are back. Marlon Davidson has shown he can play inside, as well. Jackson could see playing time, but it might not be during any significant moments.

Get to know: Auburn safety signee Carlito Gonzalez

What you need to know: Carlito Gonzalez was one of a trio of prospects who committed in the summer of 2015 and stuck with the Tigers throughout the recruiting process. He played both wide receiver and safety in high school, but Auburn likes him in the secondary.
Will they play in 2017? With a quartet of contributors returning at safety in 2017, Gonzalez will be hard-pressed to find the field there. His best shot for early playing time will be on special teams.

Get to know: Auburn athlete signee JaTarvious Whitlow

What you need to know: Whitlow was a surprise signing day commitment for Auburn. The Tigers at one time recruited him at defensive back (safety). But now, Auburn wants him on offense and returning kicks. In a nutshell, Whitlow was a dynamic playmaker in high school and was named the Class 2A 'back of the year. He passed for 2,292 yards and rushed for 2,147 on 14.1 yards per carry — in his senior season alone.
Will they play in 2017? Auburn decided late to add Whitlow to the fold and he’ll start out at receiver. Because the Tigers return a lot of young talent there, they can be patient with Whitlow as he learns the finer points of playing that position. But he’s an outstanding athlete who in time could flourish — largely because of what he can do in space.

Get to know: Auburn defensive end signee Markaviest Bryant

He’s an Under Armour All-American who recorded 13 sacks in 2016 for a team that advanced deep into the playoffs. It was his first year at defensive end, having previously played tackle.
Will they play in 2017? Bryant was a major get for Auburn, which lost starting buck Carl Lawson to the NFL Draft. Bryant could see action — and potentially a lot of it — this season. He’s still raw and learning how to play on the edge, but he is a bit of a physical freak and the Tigers may need him to play early.
