I just don't see a guy who's got legit Power 5 offers to play the position he wants to play coming here to play FB... but we'll see.
He'd probably be great at it, if he committed 100% to it.
Agreed. I honestly think this shows how much he likes AU. If he got a LB offer probably commit on the spot. Will be interesting to see what he chooses. Also curious to see how this affect Chase Lasater who seems pretty set on AU before his official visit

Auburn impresses Poutasi (Rivals)
quote:
Poutasi also spent a lot of time meeting with offensive line coach Herb Hand.
“He’s a great guy, too,” Poutasi said. “I loved him. I love his personality and what he’s about.”
Auburn didn’t extend an offer to Poutasi, but didn’t rule out doing so in the coming weeks.
“They told me to wait this week and see how it plays out,” Poutasi said. “They said everything will play itself out.”
Should Auburn offer, the Tigers would be at or near the top of Poutasi’s list.
“It would mean a whole lot,” Poutasi said. “I love this place. They made me feel at home. I saw a lot of things and everything was great.”
Poutasi will play in the Polynesian Bowl next weekend in Hawaii. He has a visit planned to Ole Miss Jan. 27-29. A mid-week visit to UCF also is a possibility.

Octavious Matthew twitter is suggesting that he is wavering.

Would stink but a big draw for landing him was coming in early. Also concerns he still might have grade issues. Would be interesting to see if we would sign another RB to replace or use that scholly elsewhere

Johnston looks like a God damn football player. Leave it to Gus to let him get away. Lie to the dude like DC and Lashlee did to their players and tell him he can play LB.

2/3rds of our RBs have grade problems. It's like Gus wants his head on a stick.

Also staff has no issues with him playing both football and baseball
But we couldn't take Thompson.

Well yeah... because one's good at football.

KN put up another insider last night. Here's summary
- Good news for AU is that 4* DE Markaviest Bryant did not commit to UGA (publicly) and shut down his recruitment like some thought he might. Still plenty of chatter that he silently committed to the Dawgs but sounds like AU will still get visit. But it's not happening next week. He's visiting LSU next weekend so Bryant will be on the plains the final weekend. AU staff tho likes having the last shot at him. We still have a lot of work to do but still very much in the race
- AU still feels confident about keeping 5* OT Calvin Ashley. Coaches plan to visit him Monday and he is coming with his family this weekend for official visit. He is getting a ton of pressure to flip to Maryland. I think with visit this weekend we lock him down for good. He hasn't visited AU apparently since last spring so this visit is big for us
- It's unclear who the priority is at FB between 3* Thomas Johnston & 3* Chase Lasater. It could be the first one to jump on board. Staff believes Lasater is more ready to play at FB than Johnston right now (duh) but really like how Johnston would fit in with team. This weekend will judge whether or not they think Lasater is a fit as well. KN says bottom line staff has two solid FB targets to choose from and can't really go wrong with either one. FWIW I think Lasater commits and Johnston ends up at Arkansas but we will see
Will be interesting to hear this week if 4* Oliver Martin & 4* Devon Hunter plan on making official visits this weekend

Lots of CBs coming in for Jordan Tucker to UNC. He officially visited there this past weekend. I am guessing staff is holding out to see if they can flip Herbert then after that look at our backup options

why WOULD we? He doesn't seem like a world-beater. I think we got a MUCH better QB prospect in Malik Willis.

Because Jamal only cares about baseball and Thompson is actually good at that sport.

KN has insider up this morning
- AU is a legit threat to land 4* OT Kai-Leon Herbert. The thought is UF #1 & AU #2 right now. He and his family really clicked with Herb Hand. The big question for Gators is the new OL coach as Summers leaving was a big shock to Herbert. He plans to officially visit Miami this weekend then UF the final one. Hand will visit Herbert Thursday this week
- Staff (including possibly Malzahn) plans to visit 4* S Devon Hunter who is expected to announce commitment Friday. He hasn't committed to it but sounds like he might still officially visit that Saturday after announcing
- We are still recruiting 4* ATH Tray Bishop but doesn't look good. As of last night he says he won't officially visit AU but we are gonna keep pushing in hopes of getting him back on campus
- 4* LB Tyler Taylor plans to announce the Monday after his official visit to AU this weekend. It remains a close fight between Auburn & Oklahoma
- The Gators are now reaching out to 3* CB Traivon Leonard (betting it's cuz 4* Christopher Henderson is now trending Bama) but Leonard says he's solid has clicked with Brown. Brown will visit again this week

Rivals releasing final rankings this week. Curious to see how big a move or if any Moultry made

So rivals hasn't updated the top 100 list but if you click player's names you can see their new ranking. From what I can tell so far
#48 4* Calvin Ashley (+15)
#83 4* Devan Barrett (-10)
#89 4* Tadarrian Moultry (+19) --> now a top 100 player on Rivals
KJ Britt was #104 and doesn't appear he cracked the top 100 in the update
