He's still part of the recruiting class on 247 because of when he graduates. Therefor, he is bringing the * average down. That doesn't mean they're going on scholarship at the same time.

To follow up on Hunter, KN just posted insider on him. Apparently Hunter told our staff he was coming before McGriff left...

T-WILL has taken over his recruitment and Moultry is going to be working him this week. He still plans to officially visit on January 20th which is big. Staff has not told him who we are hiring but said it will be someone similar to McGriff in style and experience

Ok. That's fine too. But I didn't imply that if a team doesn't sign a kicker and a LS in the same class then said team must have a damn good class. There is the possibility but obviously not a guarantee.

Tray Bishop says he is silently committed to a team but did no say which but I think it's pretty clear it's UGA. He might commit soon and UGA guys think if he does he won't take anymore visits which would be bad for us obviously

Smart's in state success is gonna hurt us more than any other program. We really need a big year this season and of course a win against those damn dawgs to stop some of this momentum

Yea we really need UGA to have another bad year next year and need to beat them ourselves. Kirby can write this year off but you can only sell hope so long before recruits start wanting to see results.

The problem is the East is so bad they are going to be able to out talent everyone. If that happens UGA is gonna be in a position to make a solid run for the next several years.

Bama ain't going anywhere and now Clemson starting to get in on the GA kid action more and more.

We've got our work cut out for us big time. Next year is critical on and off the field because this class, though it has some solid players, lacks star power big time and is not good enough to compete with the bama, uga, and lsus of the world.

Honestly not sure. I know we have started recruiting 3* Tyree Johnson who claims to be 99.9% solid to Aggies but will probably officially visit us. 4* DE Jarez Parks is now planning to officially visit us as well but I think that's a long shot. AU sees Wooten and Moultry as pass rushing guys as well so they probably won't take just anyone if they miss on Bryant.

DL recruiting is going to be interesting here at the end. We have a shot at Ryan Johnson, Markaviest Bryant and Aubrey Solomon but I don't feel great about any of em. We could land all 3 or miss on all 3. I suspect after dead period ends we will see who else is on the board up front for us

Let's try 25th in his position or above instead

Jordyn Peters: 88th in his position- If not a backup plan, should've been.
Malik Willis: 32nd in his position L
Alec Jackson: 54th in his position. O
Travion Leonard: 114th in his position L
Noah Iggy: 51st in his position This one is a backup plan but has talent
Carlito Gonzalez. 28th in his position Meh
Chandler Wooten. 26th in his position. He is good.

*The jucos have their own ranks as well.

The recruits I'm excited about and who I think Auburn can really use, folks:
Stidham
Ashley
Moultry
Britt
Wooten
Askew
Devan Barrett
Anders Carlson
Iggy
Troxell
Sal

11 players folks. Everybody else: move them, feed them steroids, or get rid of them.

Kirby is taking big advantage of this honeymoon period. Selling all those kids on them being the solution to all UGA's issues and their mouthpieces keep pumping the "look at all the 2013 class gone" mantra to cover for their terrible season. I am hoping they keep Cheney around and he keeps wasting all that talent on offense.

The crazy thing is a lot of Clemson's pitches are same as us: namely the whole "join the family" thing. It helps they win 10+ every year because they play in a shitty division (although it's getting better). I don't know if it would make a difference on the recruiting trail but wins against Dabo and Kirby would feel damn nice

2017 is a big year. There is a clear power vacuum after Bama and we are in prime position to step into it. UGA & LSU are breaking in new coaches while Tennessee & A&M are floundering and UF is just kind of hanging around at mediocre. We return basically everyone that matters on offense and add a very talented JUCO QB. Our defense loses some studs up front but probably the one position group we have a large amount of great depth is the DL. If there was ever a year to be the team to challenge Bama next year is a great opportunity and it could really help us on the recruiting trail.

I have been a big proponent of keeping Gus around but next season is kind of the do or die year for me. We need a 10 win season in the worst way and honestly I think the opportunity is clearly there to do it if we don't whirly bird it away....

2017 is critical for Gus. We will know what he has as a coach. I really am pulling for him because I think he is a good for the program, but he has to win the west. Any thing short will be a disappointment.
