Recruiting Snapshot (247)
quote:

SOME TARGETS OF NOTE

-ATH, Tray Bishop: The 4-star athlete de-committed from Auburn last week and now calls Florida and Georgia his co-leaders. He will officially visit the Tigers, Gators and Bulldogs in January. The confidence level in Athens, Ga., is rising. It’ll be a battle to the finish.

-DE, Markaviest Bryant: Georgia has long been considered the team to beat for the 4-star pass rusher, but Auburn has become a serious contender. The Tigers visited him three times during the contact period.

-S, Devon Hunter: Auburn has been trending up the past few weeks for the 4-star safety from Virginia, but it is unknown at this time how McGriff’s departure will impact his recruitment. He’s scheduled to officially visit in January.

-DE/DT, Alec Jackson: The 3-star recruit recently said Southern California led, but Auburn is in a strong position because of proximity to home and the fact he and his mother are Auburn fans.

-DE/DT, Ryan Johnson: It feels like a three-team battle between Auburn, Alabama and Stanford for the 4-star recruit and Under Armour All-American. But he’s probably a higher priority for Auburn than the Tide.

-FB, Chase Lasater: The former Michigan commit will visit Auburn in January. If all goes well, he’ll likely be a Tiger.

-DT, Aubrey Solomon: Auburn is trending in the right direction for the 5-star Georgia product and he will officially visit Jan. 20. That will be Auburn’s biggest recruiting weekend of the cycle.

-LB, Tyler Taylor: Auburn and Oklahoma appear to be the top two for the 4-star from Georgia. He’ll officially visit the Tigers in January.

-WR, Tamorrion Terry: FSU and Auburn are the teams to beat at the moment for the 6-feet-4 standout with Turner County (Ga.), who still needs a qualifying ACT score.

-OL, Jordan Tucker: The Tigers could be close to offering the former Vols commit from Georgia. If they do, he could land in the class. It’s an offer he badly wants.

BOLD PREDICTION

Auburn will sign two 4-star defensive linemen.

He's going to be awesome making one handed blocks.

Stoked to see him at AU.

KN says Herb Hand spoke with 3* OT Jordan Tucker last night. He still doesn't have an offer but Hand plans on visiting him once the dead period ends and he feels like an offer could come soon. Says if that happens we would jump to #1 on his list

3* Tamorrion Terry says it's real close between FSU & AU. Sounds like Stidham's commitment has had an impact and likes how Kodi Burns has made him a priority. Took his ACT earlier this month so should get score back in coming weeks. Needs 2 point bump to be eligible

I saw where he said the ACT he just took was really easy going to be embarrassing if he doesn't make the score

Is Tamorrion really an Auburn lock? Other than Stidham, Ashley, and Barrett, our offensive recruiting looks shitty atm.

Beggars cannot be choosers I suppose....

Troxell, Brahms? Hell of an OL, RB and QB class we're bringing in. Igbinoghene looked damn good at the MS/AL thing. And IDGAF what rankings say looking at Sal Cannella, he looks like a damn beast.

I'd say we're pretty much crushing our needs on the offensive side. We don't need a ton of WR. Needed a playmaking TE and some true top tier tackles and we got both.

Sure. Not knowing enough about the TE recruitment, I have no idea if either of these were a we'll take whoever commits first deal or not.

I'll give you those two. So 2/9 offensive commits are backup plans. TE is really the only backup plan in a "needs" position as you said. Skies are definitely falling.

Love how TE is a need all of a sudden. Does Gus know this?

Well, considering we have one on the roster...

But hey, if you want to claim TE is not a position of need and completely void your argument that we are filling up our offensive recruiting needs with backup plans, I'm all for it.
