Any chance Jovon comes back? bham_tiger and GenesChin had a brief discussion about it a couple months ago on here.

I don't see how that's possible. Jovon would be gearing up to work his arse off as an unsigned free agent if he knew what was good for him.

KN with a recruiting insider...

- Our target # this class is 25. That includes Brodarius Hamm and Tashawn Manning both joining the team. That means we have 7 spots left

- KN says the plan is still to take a FB and barring anything crazy 3* Chase Lasater will be the guy. However something to watch is Alaric Williams grades are a risk at this point so Tigers are keeping an eye on some RB targets to replace Williams if he doesn't make it in. KN didn't list any of the targets right now

- So this is crazy apparently before McGriff left some at AU thought we had a better than 50% chance to land 4* S Devon Hunter. Now things are unclear until we hire a DB coach. Hunter plans to commit January 7th at Army All-American Bowl and was tentatively scheduled to officially visit January 19th. The official visit is up in the air as he has mentioned not taking anymore visits after committing.
Damn you Ole Miss

- 3* WR Tamorrion Terry needs a 2 point jump on his ACT which could be tough but FSU & AU trying to get head start on everyone else if does get score. FSU is his leader right now but AU not far behind. Stidham could help us here because FSU leads for now do to demonstrating a better passing game. Stidham lets us sell improvement now

- Apparently both sides feel confident they will land 4* QB Lowell Narcisse. The fact he wont meet Canada face to face and our system is better fit might give us edge. Personally I think kid has been telling LA folks what they wanna hear but ends up at AU. He seems to be about relationships and with Cameron fired Lashlee is guy he closest too

- Sounds like we are not gonna push for Johnston as of now. Staff feels happy with trio we have so will be selective. AU more likely to keep pushing for 4* Tyler Taylor but some new names might emerge including guys committed elsewhere. They don't plan to settle and if we sign a 4th it's gonna be someone they think is elite

- Giving hard eval to 3* OT Jordan Tucker. Tucker told KN that if we offer we move to #1

- With all those UGA players coming back numbers tighter now for the Dawgs and it could help with 4* DE Markaviest Bryant. AU has been trending but this is hotly contested recruitment. LSU, Bama, and UF all in the race. Relative told KN AU has great chance to pull this off

- Apparently we didnt ask Canella to come participate in bowl practice. Sounds like staff tho recognized it would be hard for him to get here in time. Not sure the point of this note

So if we only have 7 spots and plan on taking 3 DL and a FB means we have to be picky on all other positions. I suspect unless they see Tucker as can't miss he doesn't get an offer and we stick with just our 3 OL. After that will be interesting to see who gets priority

Perfect finish for me would be

4* QB Lowell Narcisse
3* FB Chase Lasater
5* DT Aubrey Solomon (drink the sunshine in )
4* DE Ryan Johnson
3* DL Alec Jackson
4* LB Tyler Taylor
4* S Devon Hunter (yes I know I'm a homer)

Besides Solomon and Hunter we are looking solid for guys on that list. I think we steal either Bryant or Solomon because that's just how Garner rolls. I could see us not landing Hunter and taking someone like Terry or Tucker for that final spot maybe Whitlow if we really want another S and he gets the grades

Picked heart over mind. Staying close to his family was most important to him so that won over. Wish him the best but not sure he will beat out Brennan who looks like much better fit. Would have loved to have him and Barrett and possibly Gatewood battling for QB spot in a few seasons

That frees up spot though for either a 4th OL or that 2nd WR

So we don't have to welcome shite. If Jangalang is a dumbass we call that shite out because we are true Americans We just leave stupid shite up and don't go AU Family censorship on stupidity

Don't miss the point. Being a dumbass is one thing and entirely forgivable. Being a complete a-hole, purposefully, day in and out to Auburn people is entirely different.

I am not out to battle Jang in any way, and I am more than receptive of any and all adverse nega opinions and such. That is all fine. My point is, my REQUEST, to Jang, is simple: please, just leave the extra hostility at the door. Please? All things regarding football, and basketball (and softball?) It sucks being away from home for 22 years. I come on here to get a bit of news, shoot a bit of shite, invite everyone to Japan ad nauseam, and just try to stay in touch. One bad apple wrecking shite, on purpose, against everyone, in every thread is just completely unnecessary. It sucks.

So Jang, please? I really, REALLY do want to go to Sonic, and Taco Bell, and Arby's, and Hardee's and yes Mr. Gatti's, and Pizza Hut, and touch base with Jeff and everyone at the BBQ House that is no longer there, and Amsterdam, and Momma G's (Jay and I were same year through Auburn public schools), and Domino's and Jacks, and years of working at Touchdown's and ALL OF THAT. MUCH more than you will ever know, unless you care to at least care about others.

So please Jang. Please, take it down a notch? Or, rip me and whoever else for whatever injustice / damage you have suffered. Can we please keep the boards clean for non-personal, football (nega/posi OK!) banter, discussion, info? I hate asking for favors, but please.

War Eagle everyone. Christmas. Auburn and Tennessee (Clarksville / Houston Co. - Grandparents). Memories. Bowl season here we come. Safe and happy holidays. Invite stands.

The odds narcisse ever contributes at this level are pretty slim

Yeah, best fit, IMO. His knees are an issue. Last thing we need is another QB like Queen who takes up a scholarship, and is always injured.

Have we been in a big scholarship bind lately? Seems like we always have 1-2 spots every year available

Don't care if we take a flyer on a talent like Narcisse

I haven't done anything to you or anybody else on the board so get off your knees and please stop begging.

Maybe so but would have been nice to add another high upside guy to the QB pipeline. It's not a big blow or anything just would have been nice

Plus would have enjoyed trolling both LSU and A&M over offseason

Wish we would take a flyer on either Cunningham or Toney but not sure we will especially with number getting tight

I can't remember the last time we signed a full class on signing day. Seems like we are always getting graduate transfers to fill the gap or giving away schollys to walk ons.

I would go make a last ditch plea to that kid going to MSU. He is big, and talented. Also, unlike LN, he has actually played and produced.

I don't mind snagging some GTs or rewarding walkons so makes no difference to me.

I don't mind either but I'd rather not give schollys to walk-ons unless they absolutely earned it. Giving the long snapper a scholly is bad enough.

Historically, I've liked our normal way of giving LS scholarships, only one to the guy who earns starting role.

It is a solid recruiting tool as we attract preferred walkons who with chance to earn a scholarship if they start.

A senior who has been a 3+ year tackling dummy and paying for that privilege has definitely earned it. Whether or not we have a schollie to award him is different

They earned their uniforms, not so much the scholarship. We have players on scholly that hasn't and never will earn their scholly but that's a different story. Such as Queen. Cough Cough
