He did seem to retweet a bunch of pro auburn stuff this past weekend. It will be interesting. Who is our backup plan at WR?

4* Henry Ruggs would be our top target but that seems like longshot unless we blow him away on an official visit

3* Tamorrion Terry is a guy we are fighting FSU for

After that not really sure. I am sure new names would pop up or we might stick with just one if Cannella jumps on since he is kind of a hybrid guy. After the dead period we should have better idea of what the final board looks like

As expected, Bishop just backed off his commitment, which is probably a good thing. He gone to uga most likely.

At least he was smart enough to choose a position that he can play in the league. Good luck to him.

Texas site has update on Cannella. Judging from his quotes I like our chances

quote:

Salvatore Cannella is set to make his decision.

The three-star tight end out of Scottsdale C.C. will announce his commitment at 1 p.m. today. Cannella has a final three of Auburn, Maryland and Texas.

It’s going to come down to the fit, honestly,” Cannella said. “Obviously, I have to earn the spot, but I want to have an opportunity to come in and play right away. I’m not much into the social side. I’m more about the football side and the business side because I want to play in the NFL.”

Cannella made official visits to Auburn and Texas last week. Maryland received an OV at the beginning of the month.

Here are Cannella’s final thoughts on the three programs.

Auburn — “I feel like Auburn would be a really good fit. I like the coaches and the traditions. There is an opportunity to come in and play early. Playing in the SEC has always been a dream of mine.”

Maryland — “Maryland was one of the first schools to show me love. The coaches are some of the greatest guys I’ve met. Football wise, they have a great thing going. The coaches and players are doing things the right way.”

Texas — “I love that Coach (Tom) Herman is there now. Charlie Strong brought in back-to-back Top 10 recruiting classes. I’m excited to see what Coach Herman can do with that talent. I think he can help them win a lot of games.”

EJ’s prediction:

This is a close battle between Auburn and Texas, but I’m going to give the slight edge to the Tigers. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him pick either school. Cannella likes the coaching staffs at both programs and sees the two schools as good fits.

He could've came to Auburn and played safety though. We were just going to give him a "chance" at QB. You know, kind of like the "chance" at QB we gave to Kris Frost and Jason Smith.

Also, I'm watching through Lost for the first time and been wanting to post this gif but haven't seen anywhere appropriate so here it goes:

You should've kept that bullet in the chamber for another day. You basically did like Gus and ran a fake punt against Arkansas State.

Did we equally like him at safety as much as Georgia or did we have others on the board.

though the new OC has not had a DT QB as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at five schools Pitt, NC State, Wisconsin, Northern Illinois and Indiana.

If your QB runs for almost 1400 yards he's a dual threat.

Are you saying that Gus is only trying to spread joy and smiles with his ridiculous play calls, like I am with my gifs?

That is the most logical explanation I've heard yet.

ETA:

I can't confirm shite, but I thought I read on here that when he decided he wanted to play safety that we were cool with it my memory ain't always the best so idk

Ya we are cool with him playing safety, problem is we have recruited him as a QB since that's what he originally wanted and other schools have recruited solely as DB so we are behind in that regard

This is all kinds of wrong.

Pretty sure we pitched Frost on being a LB. If we didn't, we were pitching him at WR. He was never considered as a QB by anybody.

We wanted Bishop as a QB. We weren't giving him a "chance". That's where we wanted him. We only changed our pitch when he decided he wanted to play safety

I just don't really see the need for taking extra WRs just to take them. We have a really talented group from last year. Just make sure to get a stud like Justyn Ross or 2 next year.

Yeah WR was it. He was there for the first week of spring practice as a freshman. I think he played QB in HS and I knew he wanted a shot on offense so I was confused.
I just got done telling yall my memory is shite
