I want us to take one of these guys. Gus & Rhett were at their playoff game. I would prefer Toney but the fact that we might pass on 2 solid instate duel threat QBs is mind boggling to me

A few days ago KN posted another recruiting insider. Here's summary
- AU feeling really good about 4* S C.J. Avery. Mississippi State & Louisville are the top threats. December 14th is when he is expected to announce
- KN says they Crystall Ball'd NR WR Tamorrion Terry recently because AU's recruitment of him has picked up. FSU is also checking him out. The reason his recruitment has been so slow is academics. KN thinks if those get cleared he is gonna blow up
- It appears we now trail Oregon State for JUCO 3* OL Jordan Agasiva. He's got a bunch of buddies up there & they want him to play OT which is position he favors. Hand going to visit him soon so not out of race completely but sounds like we have some work to do namely convincing him his future lies at OG
- KN says it shows how well AU is doing at OL this cycle when they can pass on a kid like D'Marcus Hayes who is getting tons of interest from schools like UF, UGA & MSST. A name to keep an eye on if we miss Agasiva is 3* OL Caleb Chandler. UF & MIA have offered & UCLA probably will soon. He projects to play inside. Bottom line is AU can afford to be picky about their last OL spot because they got Ashley/Troxell/Brahms in tow already
- 4* JUCO DE Michael Clemons has emerged as a new DE target. KN expects us to offer soon. Right now CBs favor A&M
- Interesting note on 2018 recruiting, KN says AU is a much bigger player for Miami legacy 4* Al Blades Jr than people think. Miami still team to beat but we making a run
- Not in the notes but he posted later that 4* RB Devan Barrett is going to officially visit on December 9th. Same weekend as 4* LB target Tyler Taylor

Update on Malcolm Askew's enrolling plans, what players coaching visiting & what recruits are still vying for state titles
Important note
Important note
quote:
3-star athlete Kadarius Toney, 3-star dual-threat quarterback Malik Cunningham and 4-star 2018 OL Tank Jenkins: This was the big one because of the two coaches that attended the game — Gus Malzahn and Rhett Lashlee. Let’s take Jenkins out of the equation for a second. He’s not a 2017 prospect. He’s a major want for Auburn, and he attended the Alabama A&M game, but that’s not why Malzahn and Lashlee went to Mobile on Friday for a playoff game between Park Crossing and Blount.
The quarterbacks for those two schools are Toney and Cunningham, and Auburn finds itself in an interesting situation at the position in this class. The Tigers have one commitment from Tray Bishop, who ultimately could end up at safety. Jarrett Stidham is a toss-up at this point. Toney, a Florida commit, seems like the logical coach visit. Auburn has always thought there was some flip potential there, and in my mind, he’s the more capable prospect of the two. But Cunningham, a Louisville commit, gave Lashlee and Malzahn a chance to watch them both.
Oh, and by the way, it was a great offensive game. The final score ended 54-51 in favor of Cunningham’s Park Crossing team. Sounds like both quarterback options know how to orchestrate an offense rather effectively.

I watched some of this game and it was obvious that Toney was the best athlete on the field. His o-line is atrocious and Park Crossing knew it. They pinned their ears back and came after him all night. He made them pay for it on many occasions. I didn't see enough to gauge him as a passer but he is extremely elusive from what I saw.

so we are trending towards a lot of 3 stars while Bama is hauling in 5 stars. NICE!

4* S CJ Avery
4* S Devon Hunter
4* CB Christopher Henderson
4* LB Tyler Taylor
4* DE Isaiah Buggs
4* DE Ryan Johnson
4* C Cesar Ruiz
4* WR Tarik Black
4* WR Henry Riggs
4* WR Brandon Martin
We are in top groups for all those guys. Also comparing to Bama is dumb. No one sans Ohio State is matching them and they are even starting to lose some ground
Is this class perfect? No but we are in the hunt for some great talent. Save melt for NSD if we miss on all those guys

Really digging the help we are getting at QB as well in the recruiting class. Love seeing our staff go after established QBs and not some projects that have killed us in the past.

I'll take our 3 stars like Rudy Ford over 5stars like Tre Matthews any day.

We've had two successful QBs under Gus. One was a 5 star proven QB. The other was a complete project. We've had "established QBs" that have been horrible too.

Everyone forgets we also have Woody. He may or may not pan out, but physically, he is exactly what we want in a QB.

We have gone after guys
Jarrett Stidham (as established as it gets for a recruit)
Lowell Narcisse
Kellen Mond
We just haven't been able to land em. Still we are still a ways from NSD & lots will change. Stidham is the big domino to fall. I know it's hard but it's so dumb to melt in November when it comes to recruiting. So much can & will change before NSD that we are only seeing half the picture right now. Also this staff seems to close as well as any staff in the country
If come NSD, Tray Bishop is the only QB recruit we have landed then I will jump right on board the WTF train when it comes to QB recruiting

I see us getting Ryan Johnson, one of the safeties, and maybe Brandon Martin if he doesn't get the offers that he wants. Anybody else?

Here's where I think we stand
Leader
Avery
Johnson
Martin (tho he could be wavering)
50/50
Buggs
Taylor
Running 2nd/3rd
Hunter
Henderson
Ruggs
Black
Longshot
Ruiz
We have work to do but we are in running for more than just 3*

Looks like Scout gonna give Moultry a big bump as well
quote:
Tadarian Moultry is a prospect who really has started to come into his own. He is a prospect who missed time early in his high school career for different reasons, but played a lot of safety as a junior, then shined at linebacker this fall. He is someone who loves contact, he delivers pop when he hits, and he plays at one speed — fast. He can be used in blitz packages, he is a strong tackler in one-on-one situations and the current No. 264 prospect in the country is going to make a big jump in the rankings soon. He could end up being a top 100 prospect in the country, so him moving up over 150 spots is not out of the question. With his size, strength and ability at linebacker, he could be an outside or inside linebacker on the next level. Moultry is a strong Auburn commitment, and he is set to take his official visit December 9.
