Buggs mom will play large roll in his decision
I think at this point unless Orgeron gets booted he's all LSU & even if he does I think he might end up there anyway
quote:
PERKINSTON, Miss. — Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s 2016 season came to a screeching end Saturday when the Bulldogs came up just short of pulling a road upset over ranked East Mississippi.
The end of the Bulldogs’ season, however, means it won’t be long before we learn the fate of Isaiah Buggs.
Buggs, a 4-star recruit and the top-rated junior college defensive lineman in the Class of 2017, will be deciding from LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Auburn in the next few weeks, he told SEC Country. With the attention off his team, he can now effectively give his recruitment his full attention.
As he makes his decision and contemplates a future at one of these SEC West powers, there’s only one factor he’s truly considering.
“I love my mom to death. She’s the No. 1 lady in my life right now,” Buggs told SEC Country.
“She loves me and guides me, mainly because I didn’t have a father. She’s been the main lady to guide me since Day 1, so she’s going to have a part in the recruiting process. I ask her what she thinks, and at the end of the day she’s going to tell me it’s my decision and to go wherever I want to go. But I love my mom, so …”
Buggs’ mother resides in Ruston, La., which is just about three-and-a-half hours away from Baton Rouge.
The Tigers were one of a handful of teams to recruit Buggs coming out of Ruston (La.) High and into his tenure at Mississippi Gulf Coast. LSU interim head coach Ed Orgeron and special teams coordinator Bradley Dale Peveto have spearheaded his recruitment, and both paid ample attention to the elite defensive lineman during several of his visits this summer and when he took in Coach O’s inaugural game against Missouri on Oct. 1.
Not surprisingly, both of LSU’s coaches are well-aware of the X-factor in Buggs’ decision.
“They always ask me for her number because they know she’s the No. 1 lady in my life,” Buggs said. “At the end of the day, she’ll be the one to help me out.”
“She’ll call me and say, ‘Son, such and such called me …’ She’s going to be a top priority in my life and help me make this decision.”
You can bet both Orgeron and Peveto have courted Buggs through his mother and are hoping to finish strong.
One edge LSU holds is its proximity to Buggs’ hometown and his mother, which makes traveling on Saturdays even easier.
Buggs downplayed that factor — a bit — but conceded that Baton Rouge is an easy drive and the closest school to home over Alabama, Auburn, A&M and Ole Miss. Rest assured, these are all factors that will come into play as the 6-foot-5, 280-pounder finalizes his college plans.
“Wherever I go, she’s going to go,” he said. “If it’s LSU, it’s close to home and easier for her to get down and see me. Any decision I make, she’ll be at the top of it.”
I think at this point unless Orgeron gets booted he's all LSU & even if he does I think he might end up there anyway

Former UT commit visits AU
quote:
AUBURN | Roswell (Ga.) offensive tackle Jordan Tucker de-committed from Tennessee in October.
According to Tucker, Auburn is glad he did.
“They are really excited that I re-opened (my recruitment) and they get a chance to recruit me,” Tucker said.”They want to stay in touch throughout my recruitment process.”
Tucker, who Rivals ranks the No. 78 tackle in the 2017 class, visited Auburn on Saturday. He watched as the Tigers beat Vanderbilt, 23-16.
It was Tucker’s first visit to Auburn, but he hopes it won’t be the last.
“It was definitely a very good first visit,” Tucker said. “I love the atmosphere, the fans, and the players were really live during the game. It was pretty cool.”
Tucker has yet to receive an Auburn offer, but the Tigers have increased their interest.
“They said they really liked my film,” Tucker said. “I’m considering them now, but if they do offer, they’d be one of my top schools for sure. I’d really like to look at the school more, maybe come down for another visit.”
Rivals ranks Tucker, who stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 325 pounds, the No. 77 recruit in Georgia.

When was the last time the #1 player in bama wasnt a five star? Is next year considered a down year in bama talent wise?

Well this cycle there isn't a 5* tho there are rumors that Moultry or Ray could end up with one before it's all over with. The early rankings aren't great for the state but it's still super early. A guy like Coynis Miller is a 3* right now but is a guy that is getting a ton of love from both Bama & AU. Still very early in process but from the early looks this won't be a loaded class like 2014 or super top heavy like 2016

If we finish with a 9/10 win season not worried about Ashley. He started wavering when we struggled early but all the AU stuff is back on his twitter & he is a pretty active recruiter for us now

Possibly down but it's also early. Lots of movement both ways will happen between now and then

That class projection posted a while back looks a lot worse if you remove Buggs

It wouldn't hurt my feelings if auburn never signed another JUCO DL... seems like every one of them never lives up to the hype (and nick fairley doesn't count. We all knew who he was coming out of high school). Kongbo was the can't miss guy last cycle and he sucks... Lambert two years ago never could figure it out (Tho the knee injury really hurt)... Lavon Hooks three years ago and he never did anything.

Lambert is playing in the NFL, and Lawrence has a shot at being drafted as well. He's been pretty solid.

Not sure about that. Ben Bradley, Davonte Lambert, Devaroe Lawrence & Maurice Swain are all guys that have played a lot of snaps for us and allow us to have deeper DLs. If the barometer for success is Nick Fairley then ya all those guys are busts but that seems ridiculous to me.
Sure you would love to sign classes made up of only top notch freshman each year but the truth of the matter is not many teams can do that. So you sign some JUCO pieces to fill in the holes. Not every JUCO kid is going to be a super success story but that's true for high school kids too. We need to make sure we are always getting high school talent for sure but I have no problem with us bringing in a JUCO or 2 as well to give us more bodies that are ready to play immediately & allow us to rotate 9-10 guys up front like we are doing now

Lawerence is an interesting case... If he only had two years like most JUCOs, he'd be an afterthought... It's taken him 2-1/2 years to get to this point, and he's still getting passed up by a redshirt sophomore and four year senior for starters reps.
Bottom line is most of these guys come in and are not ready to compete on this level as immediate impact guys... unlike JUCOs at other positions where the physical demand isn't as great.

And yet he will likely be making a good bit of NFL money next year. If we were not so deep on the DL, he would likely play a much bigger role.
He is good. Just not as good as some other guys.
Thank you Rodney Garner, and the state of GA!

Been staying away from AU fball news for a few days to detox from that abomination Saturday. Finally have calmed down enough to see what's going on in recruiting world so incoming updates. First, KN put out recruiting insider last week. Here's summary
- If you haven't melted enough then I have update just for you! KN says Aggies are in fact recruiting Stidham and appear to be trending up. It's still a battle & he will officially visit both schools. As for backup plans we still like Lowell Narcisse although that seems like pipe dream. Kellen Mond could be back up for grabs if Stidham commits considering they told his dad they wouldn't recruit Stidham. Finally AU baseball commit Bubba Thompson could get a fball offer thanks to big senior season. He also has offers from Tennessee & Ole Miss
- 3* JUCO OL Jordan Agasiva is not a lock to AU. Oregon State has entered the picture & he has lots of buddies up there. Apparently he would rather play tackle & we are recruiting him as a guard. Louisville could also come into play
- Sounding like it will be when not if 3* WR Noah Igbinoghene commits to AU. Duke was the leader but they seem convinced it is a lost cause now
- AU still feels good about where they stand for 4* DE Markaviest Bryant however Bryant is definitely still an UGA lean (I am sure Saturday really helped our cause....)
- 4* ATH Tray Bishop visited UF this past weekend. UF/UGA are both major threats tho AU ppl seem to think in the end he will stick with the Tigers

KN visited Jordan Agasiva last week. Here's his scouting report
He also did in depth article on him. Agasiva says his top group is Auburn, TCU, Oregon State & Utah. Says AU hasn't slipped just those teams have pulled even with the Tigers. He talks to Hand daily & loves the way were running the ball (
) but his major concern is he sees himself as a tackle & we want him to play guard. Wants to make his decision by beginning of December. He will be on campus in the spring wherever he signs
