Like I said, We needed some talent at the skill position, but I am not seeing a whole lot of talent on the defensive side that we are still in for. There is Derrick Brown maybe. And then a bunch of new guys that are popping up.

That's all I was wondering about.

Sorry

We could also sign 2 LBs, 2 DBs, 2 DLs, a WR and an OL.

Our problems are solved now...

Probably going to be more new guys popping up at LB since the LB coach and coordinator are new. It's going to be tough to sustain interest from Muschamp/Thompson recruits since they're gone.

We'll start to know more this week and likely end up with most of that 30% committing and signing on NSD

And your numbers were wrong in the Purifoy discussion.
Umm. you were the 1 who incorrectly subtracted 13 from 24. I corrected that remember...Anyway my previous post was just light hearted fun. Relax Francis.

My overall point & I believe the point Joey is sarcastically making is you may be right that Gus puts more emphasis on O than D in recruiting but that conclusion can not be drawn just from looking at this class as you stated. There is no metric right now that significantly supports the O over D in this class. 9 D commits to 8 on O. Star quality O=3.75 D=3.67. Player grade averages O=.9109 D=.9072. While the quality of recruit on O is better in rank & grade it is only a slight advantage and of itself does not support Gus putting a lot more emphasis on O in recruiting just by looking at this class.

Exactly. Also Steele was hired in the dead period so it's really hard to tell who he is gonna target with contact so limited. When visits start happening we should start getting a better feel for who our top targets are to finish it out

Yup. We'll have an idea what our target board looks like by this weekend's OVs.

Some updates on Brown and the Meyers Brothers from 247:

A lot of positive things about Brown. Many assumed he would go to UGA heading into the Army All-American game. But after the week ended many seem to think he won't be going to UGA. A UGA commit said "I know one thing, he's not going to UGA." He's originally from Mississippi so he doesn't have as much as a connection to the state as you would think. His relationship with Garner is a big positive for us. He OVs AU this weekend then UGA and then Tennessee. You can't completely count UGA out since they still have their OV left but it's still trending our way.

McGriff has told Javaughn Meyers he is a priority for us. We need another corner and obviously it won't hurt with landing his brother. Both are supposed to OV this weekend and Ole Miss on the 29th. Some other visits are possible but none are planned as of now.

Honestly this is who I am worried about. Wish we were getting the last visit. Still AU/TN battles have gone well for us in the past let's hope it happens again.

If it does I am gonna bump the shite out of a post telling me to panic back in August about our DL recruiting

UGA is definitely much more of a concern. I still view them as slightly ahead of us despite what is being reported by our site

One name I want to hear about is EJ Price. UGA was thought to be the leader until Richt got fired and the OL coach got fired. Then there was a while where UGA didn't even contact him. We were his number 2 so I would imagine we're in the lead but I haven't heard anything about him in a long time.

Grimes and Thompson were his primary recruiters at Auburn. Hand is EJ's primary recruiter from Penn State so that could help out

He did not have us in his top 3 UA week but Keith thinks we are very much in it FWIW.
