agree. GM tries to recruit the best players on both sides of the ball. He knows you win with strong D, just look at his reason for letting E Johnson go as DC?
Now, every now and then, they may see a great athlete that was used on D in HS and he brings him over to offense.
But just look at Rudy Ford. Very good back, but he was placed on D to utilize their need for better DBs...

Because we could just as likely accept five wide receivers, two QBs, a fullback and a tightend in this class and only one linebacker.
We got a good DL haul but damn

but at the same time, I can look at our class and be able to infer that Gus is an offensive minded coach that places more emphasis on recruiting the offensive side.

He went into hypotheticals first. I was talking about our current class in the OP, not who we could finish with.

And grammar isn't your strong suit. And your numbers were wrong in the Purifoy discussion.
Just because the numbers are similar that doesn't mean more emphasis isn't being placed on one or the other.
For instance, what happens when fillers fill up the linebacker spots. Quality > quantity

FWIW a UGA commit at the Army All Star Event said Derrick Brown will not end up @ UGA. He said DB may want to go out of state & said since he was born in Mississippi he doesn't have the bond w/ the state of Georgia as most think.
If true that would be good for AU, Vols, Bama, & Miss St.

Joey, you can apply it to the current class, our linebacker class sucks.

In August, the panic was that we had too few recruits. As October unraveled, we freaked out about the DL. Now folk are panicking about LBs. I bet in a week more folks will bitch about having so many spots remaining.
It's cyclical. We've got a top 10 class with plenty of room to grow. Fans will always find a way to poke holes. Especially ones that intend to do so

Jones, signing day isn't even a month away and we still may end up with too few of recruits. And which Quality linebackers do you see us getting before then?

We have three committed plus you said we feel good about getting NCM and Richards. That's five, math wiz.

My point had nothing to do with linebackers. I know you're not very open to moving on from that right now but try to grasp that we've got ~30% of the class yet to be identified. There will be holes.
Anyway - It's early to tell with Steele and Williams just now working together. I like Uche, who you linked yesterday maybe. Legit offer sheet and looks like a huge steal this late if we can swing him.

In the last 2 years we've lost Duke Williams, Quan Bray,
Sammie Coates, Melvin Ray, Recardo Louis, etc. We've gotta get quality replacements in.
I think Slayton, Smith, Davis, Stove, and Richards or NCM are great replacements.

We could also sign 2 LBs, 2 DBs, 2 DLs, a WR and an OL.
This game is fun....

Sometimes reading recruiting threads gives me such a headache.
We are doomed.
We are on top of the world.
The problem is, I imagine it is kind of like smoking crack, you have to know it is bad for you, but you just cannot put the pipe down.
