You act like we are the only ones who passed on them. Sometimes kids are just late bloomers physically and skill wise, so they get to college and grow bigger, faster, and stronger than anyone thought. Recruiting isn't an exact science or you would never see prospects from bottom feeder power 5 teams and mid majors making it to the NFL. As far as De'runnya, Gus recruited him when he got here but he spurned us.

Zach Cunningham we slow played and then lost him when we came around to offering.
Jarrad Davis if I remember correctly went straight to UF and wouldn't have stayed at AU even if EJ wanted him

IIRC, Jarrad Davis was a 3 star that Muschamp flipped from us during the coaxing change. Another reason to believe in who Muschamp is bringing in, he knows talent.

There were a lot of people on this board that were upset that we didn't get Cunningham. I'm glad to see the kid doing well. I hope he makes the NFL and millions.

Auburn often slow plays kids and then misses out in the ending when they become takes. It sucks.
If I was committed to a good school I was comfortable at and someone slow played me, I doubt I'd flip without extreme circumstances.

Upper tier schools do it to kids who view them as their "dream school." Auburn doesn't have that luxury
The few we do like GG Robinson, we tell will definitely get a scholarship by XYZ day, then offer XYZ + 2 days later

Per AUC Keir Thomas flip to AU looks iminent and would happen as December since he's an EE. Also KT had 20 sacks last season & 14 so far this season, doing most of that at DT. The staff is excited to see what KT could do at the Buck where he would get 1 on 1 match ups.
