The D will get their bodies. He won't take away from them. Hell, he may end up at CB. You never know.

I'd be cool with him getting a shot at cb. I was hoping Slayton would get a shot there rather than riding the bench at wr

Bitches about not recruiting pure WRs.

Wants to move a top 150 WR to defense.

Staff really likes him @ WR going forward next year and they supposedly feel really good at how Jamel Dean has looked @ CB in practice.

Why would you want Slayton at CB? We will be just as thin at WR than CB next year and Slayton has some height.

You see where that top 150 wr is now don't you?

He's behind Marcus Davis Jason Smith and Ryan Davis.

Why would I want him at cb?

He was a very good cb in HS.

Wrong. Different WR position than them.

He will compete for the spot Rico has now.

Everyone else wanted him as a corner. Us and UGa told him he could play wr.

We didn't tell him that until LATE in the process and it helped us snag him

Slayton was as smooth/polished a high school WR as we've signed in a long time.

We told him that because the staff got his Sr film and really liked what he did @ WR. He became a take as a WR because of what he did as a WR. It wasn't a ploy just to get him as you are implying. FTR UGA wanted him as a WR from day 1.

Riding the bench was almost inevitable for anyone not an elite WR. With RiCardo's athleticism and Melvin Ray's run blocking, the only spot is the logjam at slot receiver with Truitt/Davis/Davis

Slayton would be riding the bench at CB anyways. Right now we really have a 3 man rotation at CB with Carlton Davis, JJones and Countess. The only other player to get snaps is Dinson who is also been solid back there.

ETA***: It makes sense for Slayton at WR going forward too given that both positions are wide open

WR Depth Outlook on perimeter
WR1 (Louis) - SR Tony Stevens/ JR J Smith
WR2 (Ray) - RS FR Darius Slayton/FR Eli Stove
WR Slot - M Davis/Truitt/ Ryan Davis

CB Depth Outlook

CB1- C Davis/J Dean
CB2- J Dinson/J Davis/TJ Davis

My best guess at our starting 4

Marcus Davis
Stanton Truitt
Jason Smith
Kyle Davis

Leaving Tony Stevens Darius Slayton Ryan Davis and 3 freshman

I like Slayton a lot at wr. I'm just saying if he isn't going to get pt they should have tried him at cb.

Doesn't matter noe though because Carlton Davis stepped USO huge and we have Dean eligible next year.

JJones has been pretty bad this year though

The guys that will compete for the perimeter WRs are going to be J Smith, Tony Stevens, D Slayton, Eli Stove, Kyle Davis

Marcus Davis and Stanton Truitt will stay in the slot barring huge WR failures
