Not sure I understand this but...

JuCo WR Dominique Reed sets two additional official visits #Arkansas #Auburn #Oklahoma #Utah LINK

I will be visiting Auburn January 23-25," he said. "I like their up-tempo offense. There will be playing time available with Sammie Coates leaving. It's a great opportunity and I could play with Duke Williams, which would be cool. They'll be breaking in a new quarterback and they're supposed to discuss that situation with me when I get there for my visit.

Oh word. Everything I read says he left the team prior to fall camp. Sounds like academics

From NJ.com

quote:

TH: After red-shirting your freshman year, you were projected to make a big impact along UNC's defensive front in 2014. Why did you choose to leave the program?

GW: It wasn't really a decision of my own. I actually messed up over grades for a little bit and I had to handle my business in the classroom. So it was an executive decision to get out of there.

Goes along the same philosophy some have in sports of finding the best athletes and teach them the skills instead of find the best technicians who are athletic. The mindset is can't teach reach.

This only works if the coach can actually coach and said athlete is willing to work. My son's high school baseball coach took some "athletes" on the baseball team. They can run and throw, but can't field, hit, or pitch. With that said, football is a lot easier to pickup than baseball or basketball.

Tim Carter is out as the HC at Auburn High per Jason Caldwell. Now maybe we can get the city talent if there is any to be gotten in the future.

My brother had a kid who ended up being a NBA draft pick tryout for his 13 year old elite travel baseball team without playing baseball before. Within about 2 months kid led the team in most pitching and hitting categories.

Did have an advantage that some of the dads who helped out include a current MLB pitching coach, current MLB 3rd base coach, former Cy Young award winner & pitching coach, former hall of famer and two additional MLB players.

As you can imagine, that team absolutely dominated the youth baseball circuit

Grades

He couldn't pass classes at UNC? Weren't they the ones that had the huge investigation about fake grades? How in the world did he fail?

He probably couldn't color inside the lines.

Like I said, you gotta be able to coach and the kid has to be able to learn. Sheer physical talent can get you through in high school in most cases.

Per Rivals AU/Rodey Garner is "looking at" 3* Juco DT Greg Webb of Hutchison C.C.

Laying the ground work for when Garner strikes out again recruiting HS DT. This way people won't have a TTs style meltdown on NSD.

Looks like I'll be crying myself to sleep in February. NSD never seems to go well for AU

Let's be honest here, it will be to the credit of Muschamp if any of the highly rated DL come to AU. The fact there was little interest in AU prior to his arrival speaks volumes into how Garner isn't cutting it on the recruiting trail.

Mods must not have appreciated my Gruden to LSU thread. It's as credible as some of the other names they float on the CC board
