I understand being a take and top target is different but the reality also is those who are behind the first choices you mentioned that are takes now in early April must mean they are not much behind the top targets at all in the staff's eyes and that's all that matters. You don't make kids takes this early if they are miles behind your top targets in April. Swinney has also been passed by Jovon FWIW. I doubt he's a take now.

edwards is a good example of coming in 2nd on a guy we really pushed for (and still are)
That one's far from over. He'll be at A-Day.

C'mon man. Stanley is our top WR prospect? I thought it was Burt...wait, he's obviously not coming here, so I guess that eliminates him. I also heard George Campbell was our top WR, but he's not likely either.

Too much of what you just claimed is simply "our top prospect from the list of guys we actually look strong for at the moment". I can guarantee you that Kevin Tolliver is probably our real "#1 CB" target, not Slayton. At TE it is likely Devonaire Clarington or Chris Clark, not Wilkerson who we were slow-playing. Walker is our top DE prospect? It was Patrick a few weeks ago (but now he looks UGA bound, whoops)...in reality our top choices there are guys like Byron Cowart and CeCe Jefferson.

Get what I'm saying?
Nope. On Walker he counts because we were always taking 2 DEs and he has always been a take at number 2. As for the rest of your post you can take it up with Keith at AUC because as I am sure you are well aware of the info comes from him. I just simply pass it along.

There is no need to be upset.

"We didn't know who it was"? For the longest time it was being reported that Craig loved Burt, he was our #1, etc, etc. Then it became clear that we were #3 or #4 at best on his list and now all of a sudden he isn't our top target anymore. One of the sites reported a ~few weeks ago that George Campbell was now our top target and that we were trying hard to get him to visit.

For what its worth, 4 days ago Niebuhr stated that there was no "clear" #1 target at WR. But dont you think its a tiny bit convenient that our newly claimed "#1 WR target" is the one that seems to be showing actual interest in coming to Auburn, and not one of the freaks that we've been trying to recruit forever with little interest coming back our way?

Often times the top targets are so unlikely to choose your school that you move onto secondary choices by default. Therefore, the fact that they are willing to take these kids doesn't really validate that they are "close" or "as good" as perhaps other options...it usually just means that the staff has a pretty good feel that they aren't going to land 'X' player, therefore they better start buttering up 'Y' and 'Z'.

Bubba Kush. And that is the last I shall speak of such. What are you talking about?

if you care to search Meta, since you seem very invested, I have been posting about these two more than most. I went to GACS for Christ's sake! Family on staff. (We won State, again (yawn), in basketball) I have several friends I played with that Coach in GA as well. You are free to continue the funny stuff though, I like it!

It was a pretty good game as well. The second best play in AU Football history!! I couldn't get you to partake of my Crown Royal though. You had to drive I think.

Respectfully disagree. Running the read option every play will not get TG to AU. He will or won't choose AU for other reasons. IMO what we need to do is throw it about 50% of the time and feature guys like Sammie and DQ so the WR recruits we are talking to don't have to sit and wait as long as they are now to know if we can or will have a good passing game that would be able to feature them if they came to AU. It's a real issue with a number of WR recruits. We are going to have to pass it before big dog high school WRs will give AU a serious look.
